Western Mass Weather for October 11, 2021

6:05AM-MON: WARMTH AND SUNSHINE JOIN FORCES OVER WMASS THIS WEEK… BELOW AVERAGE PRECIP EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS… SOME PATCHY MORNING FOG IN CMASS/SWNH THIS MORNING… A FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE LATE WEDNESDAY… NEXT SERIOUS RAIN CHANCE IS OVER THE COMING WEEKEND, WHICH SHOULD BRING AN END TO 70S FOR HIGHS, DROPPING US INTO THE 60S FOR NEXT WEEK AS NORTHWEST FLOW DEVELOPS…

Good morning folks, we’ve got pedestrian weather on the way, with increasing sunshine this week, and temps surging into the mid 70s before we get a storm to run up through western PA and NY over the weekend which will bring the threat for rain and possibly some thunderstorms by the weekend’s end.

We’ll jump into all of our weather details below, but first let’s get a word from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo

SUMMARY:
–We’re starting off in the 50s across the region this morning, and we do have some fog patches in CMass on up into southwest NH to start the day
–Any fog will burn off with time, and reveal a mostly cloudy start to the day, but slowly over time we should break up the cloud deck a bit, revealing some sunny patches
–So we’ll call it partly sunny by afternoon with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s with a light east wind
–Lows tonight will dip into the upper 40s to low 50s under partly cloudy skies
–For Tuesday, high pressure presses further into the northeast U.S. and this should develop mostly sunny skies across our region with highs in the low to mid 70s
–Lows again will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s under mostly clear skies
–Wednesday is yet another sunny day with highs in the low to mid 70s as high pressure sets up south of us, driving southerly flow into the region
–A weak boundary may move through at night with a few showers, otherwise expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the low to mid 50s
–After any morning clouds clear, Thursday and Friday will be GORGEOUS days with mostly sunny skies, and highs well into the low to mid 70s, with some upper 70s possible in the Springfield/Hartford corridor!
–By late week we should be watching a storm develop in the center of the country, and tracking northeast up and into the eastern Great Lakes region of western NY
–This could bring a bout of showers and thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday with temps either side of 70º
–Beyond that, it does look like a cold front swings through before the start of the next work week, and cools us down into the 60s for highs and 40s for lows, which is closer to seasonable temperatures for the middle of October
–One thing is for sure, we’re looking drier than average into the third week of October, so after our soak-y Summer, it’s nice to have some quietude in the weather department

We’ve got a lot of seconds and moments to move through before next weekend, so let’s put one foot in front of the other today, and do the best we can with what we’ve got – it’s all we can ever do.

Have a great day!
