Western Mass Weather for January 21, 2021

[CALMNESS, SERENITY, EASEFUL, AND FREAKIN’ COLD AND BLUSTERY THIS WEEKEND, HEY… SNOW NEXT TUES? PROBABLY NOT, BUT LIGHT SNOW POSSIBLE FOR ALONG/SOUTH OF THE PIKE AREAS… 7:10am THURS] Good morning everybody, those are just a few words that describe our upcoming spate of weather conditions.

Yes, we’ve got a few snow showers by late morning into the afternoon to deal with, though they should be lighter than yesterday, generally.

Highs will reach the upper 20s to mid 30s, and after some morning sunny periods, clouds will increase as a Clipper low tracks to our north, floating a warm front through which will produce some light snow showers and clouds.

For tonight, clouds should break up later on as the low departs to our northeast, and lows will hold in the mid 20s as a mild push arrives.

For Friday, a cold front approaches, and a few snow showers are possible ahead of it. Highs will reach the 35-40º range before the front passes through and northwest winds increase after sunset, gusting to 25mph as temps drop to 15-20º, which will produced wind chills down near 0º.

Saturday is a step into seasonable January cold, with highs only in the low to mid 20s under mostly sunny skies, along with northwest wind gusts to 30mph, which will produce wind chills in the single digits over the western hilltowns and Berkshires, and the teens in the Pioneer Valley and points south and east in northern CT and CMass.

Lows will be very cold Saturday night, getting down into the upper single digits to low teens, and continued breezy conditions, wind chills will be below zero in some spots.

Sunday is another SunnyDay with highs in the 20s and lows in the teens, and continued breezy, but not as much as Saturday.

By early next week, a storm will be tracking east through the southern Ohio Valley and could still provide some snowy impacts here, but if anything, it looks like light and mainly south of the Pike.

Highs through mid-week look to be in the 20s to low 30s with lows in the teens to low 20s.

This has been your Winter BoringCast(TM).

Have a great day!
