YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, I’m admittedly not on top of my game at the moment, but will get some more rest through the weekend and snap back into form by next week.
For now, I’m just going to bullet out our main weather points as we’re still under the influence of the upper low that crossed our region overnight and stacked on top of the secondary coastal low that now sits in the Gulf of Maine bringing up to two feet of snow to the great state to our northeast, and up to 15″ or so in parts of SVT.
How much snow did you end up with, and which town?
Got any wintry morning pics for me/us? Please post!
WEATHER DETAILS
–The next pair of days (Fri and Sat) will feature highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s and will be breezy, out of the west today and north tomorrow
–Gusts will range between 15-30mph for the most part as we’re caught between low pressure east and high pressure west and north of us.
–Lows tonight and tomorrow night will sit down to around the freezing mark
–For today, we’re under the influence of an upper low that will produce some isolated showers at times, rain in the low terrain, graupel or snow in the mountains, and driest/sunniest in northern CT
–Late afternoon into tonight, a northwest flow develops and with remnant moisture should kick up upslope snow showers in southern VT (mostly Bennington Cty), into the central/northern Taconics and Berkshires (esp. northern) with an additional coating to 3″ of new snow by Saturday morning
–On Saturday, our upper low will retrograde back towards the coast and drop a final shortwave southward along its western flank, which will produce a mostly cloudy day along and east of the CT River Valley
–This will produce a period of rain or mixed showers in SWNH, CMass, and far eastern CT, and some activity may push into easternmost WMass towns like Shutesbury, Warwick, Pelham, Brimfield, etc.
–It will still be breezy with northerly gusts of 15-25mph
–Sunday is our transition day out of this wintry pattern as our lazy and aimless upper low finally starts pulling away to the east we’ll get some sunshine by afternoon, I believe, with highs well into the 40s
–By Monday, we’ll enjoy full sunshine with highs in the 50s to low 60s which should be good for the solar eclipse!
–Tuesday looks lovely and similarly mild as well, but by mid week a warm front may push some showers our way, and then a storm looks to pass to our north, bringing steadier rainfall Thursday into Friday
Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
