Blustery and cool conditions today will beget a warmer mid-to-late week period with a few of us reaching the low 70s Thursday before we cool down Friday night through the weekend with showers possible Saturday and a chill that lasts well into next week as Autumn remembers what season it is.

SUMMARY:
–It’s cold out, the end, I’m kidding!
–Lows temps in the 30s and 40s will give rise to highs in the low 50s to low 60s
–However, we’ve got an upper low to our northeast and a strong high pressure system centered over the Smoky Mountains in western NC
–The pressure gradient between the two is actually strongest today, which will kick up northwesterly gusts of 25-35mph
–This will actually produce a wind chill effect in the higher elevations of the Berkshires, western hilltowns and southern VT primarily, with chill readings in the 40s, so bundle up in the hills!
–Wind will slacken tonight with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s under mostly clear skies
–Said high pressure system drifts eastward, and puts us into a westerly flow tomorrow, which is warmer, and highs will respond by rising into the low 60s to near 70º across the region under increasingly sunny skies
–After Wednesday night lows in the upper 40s, we’ll enjoy the warmest day of the week on Thursday with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s.
–Savor those temps, folks, because another cold front will be moving through at night with a period of scattered showers and lows in the 50s
–Thereafter, our Friday will still be mild, with highs in squarely in the 60s under mostly sunny skies, but colder air will be advecting into the region behind the front for Friday night through the weekend
–After Friday night lows in the 40s, another wave of low pressure tries to develop along the recently-departed cold front, which may spread some showers back into our region, especially east of the I-91 corridor for Saturday
–Highs will only reach the mid to upper 50s, and lows will bottom out into the 40s
–Sunday is certainly the weekend pick with mostly sunny skies expected as high pressure reasserts itself, but highs will only be in the upper 40s to mid 50s and the same goes for Monday
–Sunday night lows should bottom out in the 30s and by Monday night, we may be talking about the 20s and our first hard freeze of the cold season, so I will keep you updated!

I hope things go your way today, and that you have a great day!
