Western Mass Weather Report for October 4, 2021

7:20AM-MON: FIRST RAIN ROUND EXITS THIS MORNING, AND PICKS BACK UP THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING… SECOND AND FINAL RAIN ROUND EXITS TUESDAY MORNING, AND SETS US UP FOR A WARM, FAIR WEATHER PERIOD WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, POSSIBLY INTO SATURDAY BEFORE SHOWERS MOVE BACK IN SUNDAY, WITH A COOLER WEEKEND…

Good morning everybody, we’ve got a few fog patches out there with temps mainly in the 50s, and showers are tracking east and out of the WMass region. We’ve got more rain on the way for this evening and tonight with nice weather later this week to look forward to with some highs in the 70s!

We’ll jump into all those details below, but first let’s get a word from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo

DISCUSSION:
As of 7am, most showers are now east of the I-91 corridor and will continue to keep on truckin’ out to sea, but it will rain hard early this morning in Worcester County.

Otherwise we can expect a lull in the rain shield as advertised yesterday for the mid-morning to perhaps mid to late afternoon period, before a resumption of rainfall moves back into the region.

We can’t rule out a few showers at times during this lull time, and highs will only reach the mid 50s to low 60s with overcast skies and light east to northeast wind, which may kick some 15mph breezes here and there.

This second rain round will likely move back into the region due to a low level jet streak combining with another wave of low pressure tracking along the front stalled to our south that will develop more rain across the region tonight.

So expect a rainy Monday night, with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s with some patchy fog possible late.

For Tuesday, we’ll deal with one more cool day with highs only in the mid 50s to low 60s, and some morning showers that should taper off by noon. Even when the showers are gone, we could see some drizzle patches around the region, so it will be rather gloomy day. Lows will bottom out in the upper 40s to low 50s with some breaks before dawn.

The Wednesday through Friday period looks really nice, and warm! Partly sunny skies should be the rule for Wednesday and Thursday, though more sun is possible on Thursday.

Highs will reach in to the mid 60s to low 70s Wednesday, then the low to mid 70s Thursday and Friday when the sunshine develops in its full resplendency! Hooray!

Lows should drop down into the low to mid 50s during this period, and humidity looks tolerable as high pressure dominates our weather.

The weekend is not as clear, although Saturday could be a continuation of fair, mild weather with more showers possible on Sunday, but I will refine that as we get closer.

Have a great day, and I hope things go your way today!
