Good morning folks, we’ve got some patchy fog to contend with this morning in spots, and that will be the case on Wednesday and Thursday mornings as well.
Dewpoint temps are starting their 72-hour ascent into the 60s (low to mid 60s today, more like mid to upper 60s by later tomorrow and Thursday).
We’ll see temps soar along with abundant sunshine as high pressure floats out into the western Atlantic and drives a southerly and southwesterly flow into the WMass region.
Highs today will reach the low to mid 80s, and we can’t rule out some upper 80s readings in the Springfield/Hartford metro areas and lower Pioneer Valley flatlander locations.
Lows tonight drop into the upper 50s to low 60s with patchy fog late.
For Wednesday, one more great late summer day with plenty of sun, rising humidity, and highs in the low to mid 80s once again. Lows drop down into the low 60s with patchy fog again late.
For Thursday, we’re watching a cold front draped off of a powerful storm that will be traversing through east-central Canada. This front will pass through the region sometime on Thursday night, and before that happens, we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday and Thursday night.
Highs will reach the upper 70s to mid 80s, and lows will dip into the mid to upper 50s as drier air arrives very late at night, setting up for a sweetly Autumnal Friday.
We’ll enjoy cooler and drier Canadian air on Friday and Saturday with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s with northwest flow and lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s during the period, with clear skies at night.
By Sunday, much of the day should feature partly to mostly sunny skies with highs either side of 70º, but a few showers may build in later in the day and lasting into the night, thanks to another cold front that will reinforce cooler and drier air in the WMass region for early next week. Lows will be in the 50s.
Showers may last into very early Monday before we get even more sunny and low humidity conditions in these parts for early next week.
It feels great on the bones, but we certainly need rainfall, as we’re in moderate to severe drought.
Keep up irrigation and watering operations, if you’re a tender of plants.
Get some Vitamin D today, and enjoy it!
