Western Mass Weather for September 3, 2020

[HAYMAKING WEATHER ARRIVES TOMORROW… A FEW SHOWERS LATER THIS MORNING INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON, OTHERWISE VERY WARM AND HUMID TODAY, TONIGHT AND TOMORROW WITH DRYING AIR FOR OUR FRIDAY AS AIR OF CANADA ARRIVES AGAIN… LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS PERFECTION WEATHER-WISE AND FULLY SUPPORTIVE OF ANY OUTDOOR PLANS… WARMER AND STILL SUNNY EARLY NEXT WEEK.. 7:10AM THURS]

Good morning everybody, as the old saying goes, you gotta make hay while the sun shines is going to be most appropriate once we get to tomorrow into the middle of next week, as our local star will be revealed in its full resplendence.

There isn’t too much to discuss as high pressure gets set to rule our roost, so I will just whip out some double-dashes and let ‘er rip:

SYNOPSIS
–Pre-dawn showers have pushed east, and the warm front is through the region
–It is warm out there, with temps in the 60s and low 70s, and dewpoint temps not much farther below those readings
–We’ll see a partly sunny to more-clouds-than sun type of sky today with humid conditions and highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s
–A few scattered showers will be possible by later morning into the first half of the afternoon with a disturbance working out of the Ohio Valley to the east, but some of that may weaken and/or pass more south of the Pike
–For tonight, it will be humid and mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s, and an isolated shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out as a drying cold front swings through the region
–For our Friday, we’ll have lingering warmth with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s under mostly sunny skies, but humidity will be lowering throughout the day
–Winds will be calm Friday night, and with mostly clear skies and dry air fully in place, radiational cooling will maximize and lows will plummet into the upper 40s!
–Labor Day Weekend is SUPREME
–Mostly sunny skies throughout all 3 days, with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s for Saturday, and then mid to upper 70s Sunday and Monday, with lows in the 50s throughout
–By next Tuesday and Wednesday, it will warm up, and humidity will increase, but sunshine should remain
–Highs during that period look to crest into the upper 70s to low 80s with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s
–Next chance of a shower or thunderstorm is next Thursday with a cold frontal passage, that then cools us down even more into the following weekend, the way it looks now

The only real wild card that I can see that we need to keep vigilant about is the potential for a tropical system to be directed up into New England, but as of now, there are zero real-world worries for such an event.

I will continue to monitor in case that changes.

Have a great day!
