Good morning folks, lots of pitter pattering activities on our roofs this morning with heavy rain at times, and fog has been observed in parts of the Berkshires, and lower Pioneer Valley. Let me know if you’re seeing any fog where you live or work! Rain lasts through this morning, with improvements this afternoon.
We’ll skip like a kid into the details below, but first let’s get a word from our local and delicious sponsor. #GustatoryDelights

SUMMARY:
–Over an inch of rainfall has been measured at Stockbridge, MA in the Berkshires, and in general, a number of Litchfield and Berkshire County locales have seen over an inch with heavy rain there now
–Soon that rain slug will transfer east into the western hilltowns, and we’ll have to see how the orographic uplift phenomena of hills ringing out more precip may translate into a localized flash flood warning, though none yet so far
–Our mid-level low near the Great Lakes is finally lifting northeast into southern Ontario/southwest Quebec, Canada
–Our cold attendant cold front is finally lifting north-northeast through our region this morning, bringing heavy rain at times
–There is still a threat for a weak tornado, mainly in northeast CT, northern RI, eastern Worcester County, easternmost Cheshire County NH and all points east of there, mid morning to early afternoon
–I will monitor and update here on this page if anything looks overly spinny
–Otherwise, we have a low chance for an isolated thunderstorm become severe with straight-line damaging wind, but it’s unlikely at this point
–Highs today will reach the upper 60s to low 70s and the high humidity this morning (with dewpoints currently in the upper 60s to low 70s except for the Berkshires where it has started to lower) will decrease with time today
–Any showers will quit by late morning to mid afternoon from the Berkshires to Worcester County (i.e. west to east) and we should get some sunny breaks by end of day, with southwest winds gusting up to 25mph as cooler air works into the region
–For tonight, the humidity is GONE, with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s under partly cloudy skies and light wind
–On Saturday, we have a bit of a fly in the ointment situation with regard to potential showers in the afternoon/evening.
–Another disturbance will work along the slow-moving cold front near the coast, and that could spread showers back to the west
–For now I think any showers would be scattered and stay well east of I-91 over northeast CT and CMass, but stay tuned for updates tomorrow
–Otherwise, we’ll call Saturday a partly sunny day, as two separate disturbances may increase the cloud cover west of I-91 and east of I-91, especially later in the day, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, and lows near 50º
–For Sunday, we should start to feel the influence of incoming high pressure more distinctly, with more in the way of sunshine and highs in the mid 60s to low 70s, with a spot instability shower possible in the afternoon. Lows again will dip into the upper 40s to low 50s
–Monday through Thursday, at the moment, look increasingly autumnal, with mid 60s to low 70s for highs Monday and Tuesday
–A cold front comes through Tuesday evening with a few showers, and then Wednesday and Thursday look even cooler with highs only in the low to mid 60s and lows in the mid to upper 40s as Fall gives us a nudge!
Have a great day!
