Good morning everybody, we’ve got a blanket of melancholy to face as we get going today, with mostly cloudy skies, and fairly heavy rain over the northern Berkshires into SVT, with another larger rain shield to spread across the WMass region this morning and into the afternoon.
Highs today will reach the upper 60s to low 70s with an easterly or southeasterly flow, keeping the moisture socked into our region.
Showers should lessen or abate later this afternoon for a while, but another frontal boundary will be sliding through overnight, which will bring us a few more showers. We can’t rule out a thunderstorm today or tonight, but it’s unlikely.
Lows tonight will hold in the low to mid 60s as humidity builds into the region, and as such, patchy fog will show up in spots late at night and early tomorrow morning.
After any morning fog burns off, we’ll develop a mostly sunny day which will be quite warm and humid – Summah! Highs will reach the low to mid 80s with a light west wind. Lows Thursday night will again be in the low to mid 60s as our cold front slides through the region late.
The front will be strong in that it will usher in a new air mass for the weekend to dry things out and cool us a bit, but much of the moisture and energy will be found to our north, so aside from a few showers, it shouldn’t produce much fanfare.
By Friday, the humidity will be dropping through the day, starting off humid, and ending dry, but temps will be warm with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s before plummeting to the 50s at night as Air of Canada spills into the region and settles.
From Saturday through Monday we can expect mostly sunny skies, dry conditions, and highs in the low to mid 70s in the high terrain and mid to upper 70s in the valley locations through the period, with lows in the low to mid 50s.
A beautiful end-of-summer weekend will support any and all outdoor plans, so plan away folks, and enjoy the day!
