Good morning friends, we’ve got some thick fog banks out there this morning, notably in Springfield, Westfield and Pittsfield, and along that whole southwest MA into northwest CT sub-region, for the most part.
This will burn off quickly, and we’ll get a couple of nice, milder days before we cool down this weekend, with some showers possible by Sunday afternoon.
We’ll jump into all or our weather details below, but first let’s get a word from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo

SUMMARY:
–To start, I’m reminded that life is short as we just lost a wonderful musician and beautiful, talented man in our valley yesterday, someone I just played a gig with 2 months ago
–It reminds me that we’re all in a process of leaving each other, so it’s important to really appreciate when things are well with your family, friends and colleagues and bring awareness to that and soak it in, and appreciate your people
–I appreciate you all, and the chance I get to connect with you all every day
–Even when my reporting is inaccurate, because of you, I get to get up to bat and take another swing, so thank you for giving me a purpose in this world that keeps me connected to you all
–As for our weather, the patchy dense fog of this morning will burn off by mid-morning, and reveal a mostly sunny day and it will be warm!
–Highs will reach the upper 60s to mid 70s with a light west wind
–Lows tonight will dip into the upper 40s to low 50s with patchy dense fog redeveloping late
–After fog burns off on Friday, we’ll start off mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, but some clouds will build in by mid to late afternoon, as a cold front will be slicing southwest (not the normal direction) due to high pressure flexing near Nova Scotia
–This will send clouds and a few sprinkles or light showers through the WMass region Friday night into early Saturday morning with Friday night lows in the upper 40s to low 50s
–On Saturday, a few sunny breaks will be possible, but skies should be mostly cloudy with the front nearby (though west and south of us)
–Highs are only expected to climb into the upper 50s to mid 60s, with dry conditions. Lows will dip into the mid to upper 40s.
–For Sunday into Monday, we have to watch how a low pressure system now over the Mississippi Valley evolves into the eastern third of the country
–As of now, Sunday morning looks dry, but we could see some light to moderate showers on Sunday afternoon and especially at night into Monday morning.
–Highs will reach the low to mid 60s with lows near 50º
–After a morning shower and thicker/lower clouds, we should get some brightening by afternoon, but a mostly cloudy sky is expected with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and lows in the low 50s
–Thereafter, Tuesday onward looks warmer, with more sunshine, and highs in the low to mid 70s
–No frosts/freezes in sight, and a delayed foliage peak is in the cards for now.
Have a great day, and hug your loved ones a little longer today. Life on this Earth is ephemeral, and we’re lucky to even have one friend or one good moment, embodied in this vast, deep, infinite Cosmos that is mostly inhospitable to life as we know it.
What a miracle, indeed. Be well <3 P.S. Turn those high beams to low in the dense fog. Most know this, but it does help with visibility when driving through it.
