Good morning everybody, it looks like we’ve got a changing pattern with which to contend in our near future, and that means these unseasonably warm days are leaving our shores and being replaced with more seasonably cool late October weather, including more rain chances for next week.

Before we leap like a wild cat into all of our salient weather details below, please check out a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo

SUMMARY:
–To start the day we’ve got temps well into the 50s and even some low 60s with a few patchy fog spots in the valley
–Some of us experienced a couple of thunderclaps during the pre-dawn hours as a storm tracking northeast up the St. Lawrence River in southeast Canada dragged a line of showers through the WMass region
–These showers/storms have exited the region, and a cold front will be moving through later this morning
–The timing of our frontal passage will allow for temps to come up one last time in this fleeting warm sector, with highs in the low to upper 60s, and maybe a few spots hitting 70º
–Both air and dewpoint temps will be dropping this afternoon, as we dry things out, but at least we’ll enjoy a partly sunny day on average
–In other words, for late October, we’ll take it with a smile
–By tonight, the chill is back, with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s under mostly cloudy skies as some moisture aloft works through into Saturday morning
–For Saturday, we’ll see cloudiness in the morning, but we should see some more sunny breaks later in the day with a nice Fall day developing
–We can’t rule out a few light showers early. Highs will only reach the upper 40s to upper 50s from the high terrain to the valley during the day, so if All In The Family ever did a Fall TV Special, Archie would’ve told Edith to BUNDLE!
–Lows will drop into the mid to upper 30s… chilly indeed, but seasonably so
–Sunday is the pick of the weekend, with mostly sunny skies as high pressure moves through for a minute
–Highs will reach the 50s for most of us, to maybe near 60º for a few folks in the southern Pioneer Valley
–However, clouds increase Sunday night, and a few showers are possible late
–By early next week, our weather looks to turn inclement
–A series of storm systems will be sweeping in off of the Pacific Ocean, and tracking west to east (a/k/a “zonal flow”) which looks to place the first in a potential series of storms into the Ohio Valley by Monday, with its warm front extending east into southern New England
–This will focus showers over the region by Monday morning, most likely, and will last much of the day
–Then it looks like said low pressure system will help develop another Mid-Atlantic coastal low while high pressure moves in to southeast Canada
–This will help drain some cooler air from north to south into this coastal system, while also producing a pressure gradient that could combine to give us quite a rainy Nor’easter for Tuesday and Tuesday night
–We will see if that shakes out, but that’s how it looks for now
–Highs will be in the 50s for highs and 40s for lows through the whole period, so no wintry precip is expected right now, but we’ll keep an eye on it
–A break for Wednesday looks like it may lead to another rainy setup for late week

Stay tuned for our upcoming weather changes, as I’ll update you every day.
