Good morning, folks, it’s cold out this morning, but not as cold as the peak of our first cold season cold snap, which was yesterday morning. We’re recovering from the upper 20s to low 40s across the region, and will soar into the upper 50s to mid 60s tomorrow – with full sunshine, this will be a heck of a way to enter the 2nd week of November! But, all good weather runs in New England end at some point, and we’ve got a few showers coming Tuesday night, and then some heavy rain at times on Friday afternoon into early Saturday.
Before we jump into all of the details below, please check out a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, who just opened a new location in West Springfield, MA.

SUMMARY:
–High pressure continues to stretch from New England down into the Deep South
–This will continue to give us several more days of mostly fair, dry, and mild weather conditions
–It will also ensure a coastal storm gets firmly punted out to sea –Highs today will reach the upper 50s to low 60s under mostly sunny skies with a light north wind at times
–Lows will dip into the mid to upper 30s under mostly clear skies
–For Tuesday, the pick of the week will be upon us, with highs cresting into the upper 50s to mid 60s! Such a nice day coming!
–A little wave will track across northern New England and bring some clouds into our region Tuesday night, and a few showers are possible overnight into early Wednesday morning, especially the further north of the Pike you go
–Lows Tuesday night will settle down to either side of 40º
–For Wednesday, any morning clouds or showers should quick vamoose to the east, and we should get another sunny day developing with highs in the 55-60º range
–Lows will drop into the low to mid 30s
–On Thursday, we’ll have a transition day out of our long, dry stretch, as moisture aloft starts streaming into the region from the southwest and south
–A mature low pressure center will be winding up out over the Great Lakes region and will wrap its cold front far around its center to the east, sending it toward New England

–We can expect partly sunny skies on Thursday with highs in teh low to mid 50s
–Lows will drop into the low to mid 40s with showers approaching from the southwest
–A strong southerly low level jet streak will develop for Friday and transport wind energy and moisture into New England, which will allow for widespread showers, and some downpours, to spread into the WMass region
–Expect a wet day for Friday, lasting likely through Friday night
–Highs will be in the 55-60º range on Friday, with lows in the 40s
–How long this lasts into Saturday is not really known yet, but expect some scattered showers for the first half of Saturday, with highs in the 50s
–Then after that system passes us by, we have to watch this Sunday into Tuesday timeframe
–Colder air will be filtering back into the region, and another disturbance is signaled for sometime around Monday
–If the new cold and new disturbance coincides during an overnight period, our hilltowns may see some snow, but it’s much too early to know
–Still, it bears watching, and overall, the second half of November looks colder as a mid-level trough is expected to develop in the eastern U.S., and those lower-than-average pressure regions aloft foster cooler and/or inclement conditions, so my weather periscope is up and spinning 360º as we get closer
