Good morning everybody, I hope you slept well, are feeling good, and I wish for you the perfectly poached egg, the lovingly fluffy bowl of oatmeal, or whatever tickles your fanciful breakfast food preferences.
As for our weather, it’s **insert ship whistle here** steady as she goes, with high pressure dominating up, down and all around our region.
Interestingly, the attached 7am temp map indicates 50s in the high terrain, and 30s in the valley, so what’s up with that?
Well, it’s called a temperature inversion. In this case, it’s indicative of much warmer air aloft, and with temps at that level 1000-2000 feet up, you KNOW it’s going to perform well in the Rising Temperature Department (the RTD, an acronym that only exists in my mind!).
Abundant sunshine is ours for the next three days, as is warmth, with highs in the low to mid 70s which will likely tie or break a few records. Tuesday may be slightly cooler, but it’ll still be gorgeous.
Lows, however, are still “November-style”, and with strong radiational cooling, we’ll get back down into the 30s to low 40s tonight and tomorrow night.
By Wednesday, some moisture from Tropical Storm Eta will be funneled up the eastern seaboard ahead of an incoming cold front. It will become muggy, with dewpoints into the low to mid 60s on Wednesday!
The arrival of this moisture is a bit slower than previously thought, which should allow for Wednesday to be very mild, with highs in the mid to upper 60s with early morning sunshine giving way to clouds, and showers by or after sunset, and overnight into Thursday morning.
Rain looks to fall heavily at times, which will continue to help the drought situation, which thankfully has been mitigated over the past couple weeks, but we are still down in terms of accumulated rainfall for parts of the region.
After rain quits by early Thursday afternoon, highs should reach the 50s for high temps. Lows look to fall into the 30s as we cool down.
Friday through next Sunday looks seasonably cool with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s, generally speaking.
Have a great day and get outside and celebrate life! We’re still here!
