WET SNOW POSSIBLE FOR THE BERKSHIRES, WHs, AND S.VT LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING… RAIN FOR THE REST OF US… MOSTLY CLOUDY TODAY, A FEW RAIN/SNOW SHOWERS WED, AND FAIR WEATHER EXPECTED THURSDAY INTO SATURDAY WITH COOLER TEMPS…(9:40am Sun)
Good morning everybody, the last few showers are migrating west to east through the region as of this writing.
Did anyone experience any icy roads, driveways or sidewalks last night or this morning?
For the rest of the day, we can expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the low to mid 40s (maybe some upper 30s in SVT and highest terrain). Cloud cover remains the same tonight with lows near freezing.
For Monday, we start off mostly cloudy, but rain will move back into the region by about noon or so. Highs will be colder in the mid to upper 30s. While a few localized spots of freezing rain are possible, it looks like plain rain to start from this prognostic perch.
Monday night is going to be the time to watch the exact track of the secondary low pressure system off the coast. We know that a parent low will pass well to our northwest and up into southern Canada.
However, the strength, speed of development and track of the secondary low will have implications for who in our region changes over to heavy wet snow, and if those areas get just a slushy coasting or 3-6″, which could cause some plows to come out in the northern Berkshire County, western Franklin/Hampshire, and S.VT.
Any rain, ice or snow will hit the high road by mid morning or so on Tuesday, and we could actually get some partial sunshine in here before the day is over. Highs will be in the low 40s, with lows in the upper 20s.
Wednesday through Saturday look to feature mainly fair weather right now with highs in the 30s, lows in the 20s, and a few snow showers possible on Wednesday as upper level energy swings through the region and out to sea.
Have a great day!
