Good morning everybody, we’ve been having some rain overnight and some southerly gusts to 20mph at times, especially in the Berkshires.
For today, rain will continue, steady or even briefly heavy at times during the morning, and should taper off by late morning to early afternoon from west to east.
In fact, a mix with snow is possible in the southern Greens or northeastern Berkshires into NW Franklin County as colder air streams in behind the cold front as it passes through.
Highs in the upper 40s to low 50s will crest by noon and drop in the afternoon as we dry out and see some sunshine develop by mid to late afternoon with northwesterlies gusting to 30mph at times as fresh, cold, Canadian air comes rushing in.
Lows tonight will drop into the upper 20s as northwest winds slacken with time.
For Tuesday? Sunny, cold, high pressure dominates, highs in the 35-40º range, northwest winds gusting to 20mph, and lows in the low 20s with slackening wind.
By Wednesday, we’ll be watching two storm systems, a northern stream low that will track well north of us, and a southern stream low that will run right through us.
This will spread clouds into the region, but much of (if not all of) Wednesday should be dry with highs in the low to mid 40s.
A few showers should arrive before midnight on Wednesday evening with lows in the upper 30s.
This rainfall will continue on Thanksgiving Day, generally light to moderate in intensity, but a warm frontal passage will get us up into the mid 50s or so for highs.
Otherwise, it’s not looking like a great day for outdoor family gatherings, but the good news is that it should start to dry out in the afternoon, so hopefully we’ll ship the rain and showers out of here by noon time, and with highs in the mid 50s, it could be doable.
In other words, if you are planning for an outdoor gathering, you might want to shift your plans to later in the afternoon, the way it looks now.
Lows Thursday night will drop into the upper 30s under mostly cloudy skies.
Friday through Sunday looks to feature partly sunny skies on average with a few showers possible over the weekend and highs near 50º, but I will refine that as we get closer.
