WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE POSTED FOR TOMORROW FOR THE BERKSHIRES, WESTERN HILLTOWNS, ALL OF FRANKLIN COUNTY, SVT and N. WORCESTER COUNTY… LIGHT SNOW, FREEZING RAIN AND RAIN THIS AM IS EXPECTED TO END BY AROUND NOON… BE SURE TO DONATE TO MONTE’S MARCH TODAY… (5:40am Mon)
Good morning everybody, we are waking up to generally light mixed precip this morning, with snow and freezing rain generally north of the Pike and rain south. Please post any condition reports below.
The rest of this report will be brief and in bulleted form, here goes:
–Light mixed precip continues this morning, and a coating to an inch of snow is possible in some high terrain areas
–Highs should reach the mid 30s to low 40s, and mostly cloudy skies will dominate the afternoon
–Our second storm system will emerge off the Mid-Atlantic coastline and spread rain and snow back into our neck of the woods before midnight tonight
–Generally speaking, snow is expected north of the Pike in WMass, CMass, SVT and SWNH, and rain is expected south with lows in the low to mid 30s
–We could change to all snow overnight before rain mixes back into the lower Pioneer Valley (south of the PIke and down into northern CT)
–However, areas north of the Pike and especially north of Rt. 9 should pick up 2-4″ of snow, which should quit before sunset with highs near freezing
–It will become colder Tuesday night with lows in the 20s under partly cloudy skies
–Aside from some snow squalls Wednesday evening, Wednesday into the first half of Saturday looks generally fair, but cold
–Wednesday highs will be in the low to mid 30s, with lows in the teens as northwest winds kick up and create very cold wind chills
–Thanksgiving Day will be the coldest day so far in the new incoming cold season with highs in the teens, and lows near zero. This will last a day
–Friday through the weekend will see moderating temperatures, and if we’re lucky, this weekend could see highs in the low 40s which is about seasonable
Have a great day, and please do donate to Monte’s March today and tomorrow. I will be driving in it today helping my friend Tom Adams of Reelife Productions document today’s walk from Springfield to Northampton to help raise money for the Western Mass Food Bank.
