Good morning folks, well, that was an incredible weekend of New England weather with five, as in the number 5 weaker tornadoes that touched down across CT and RI, as well at least one other that touched down over Long Island, plus the northern Berkshires and parts of southern VT turned into a winter wonderland with up to 5″ of snow having accumulated, along with over 2″ of rain in spots, gusty winds, small hail, and more.
The week ahead has some changes afoot, but nothing like that, fortunatey for us. Before we jump into all of the details below, I’ve got a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, who just opened a new location in West Springfield, MA.
A NOTE FROM OUR SPONSOR:
DHTWN Is Sponsored by Members, Patrons & Tandem Bagel Company: No matter the weather, Tandem Bagel is always there for you at several valley locations to make your mornings brighter! With bagels baked fresh daily, house-whipped cream cheese, coffee, and tons of lunch options, Tandem is the perfect quick stop for lunch, breakfast, or a coffee and bagel to go. Find them in Easthampton, Northampton, Hadley, Florence (and now West Springfield!), or use their super-streamlined online ordering tool by visiting their website: https://www.tandembagelco.com
WEATHER DETAILS:
–We could be seeing some black ice patches out there this morning
–The third low pressure system in as many days is pulling away, and will strengthen as it tracks into Atlantic Canada which generates westerly wind gusts of 20-30mph at times today
–Highs will reach the low to upper 40s with a mix of clouds and sun, though more clouds are expected as the day wears on
–Some scattered rain or snow showers develop as the upper level low responsible for swinging all of these surface storms through FINALLY lifts northeast and out of here
–For this evening, the Berkshires, western hilltowns and southern VT could see some more snow showers from lake effect and/or upslope processes, with a coating to an inch or so possible
–Lows will drop into the upper 20s to low 30s
–Another blustery day as the pressure gradient tightens with higher pressure to the south and low pressure north, producing west winds gusting to 25mph
–Expect partly to mostly sunny skies as high pressure finally gets to move into our house for a while
–Still, it will be quite chilly with highs in the upper 30s high terrain to mid 40s in the valley, with lows in the mid to upper 20s
–Wednesday will feature an increase in clouds after some early sunshine with highs in the 45-50º range, with more clouds at night as a warm front lifts northeast into the WMass region with lows near 40º
–Folks, while can never really never in New England, this Thursday represents much more likely than not the last chance to enjoy some high temps in the 60s before a colder pattern looks to set up, and one that could become more wintry the last week in November and during the month of December

–Highs Thursday spike into the 60s, and a few folks may even hit 70º!
–However, a sharp cold front sweeps all of that warmth out to sea and away, with lows in the low to mid 30s with rain and snow showers overnight
–Friday through Sunday looks cold, with highs only in the upper 30s to mid 40s, though fair weather is expected before a few showers work back in on Sunday
–Thanksgiving week continues to signal potential winter storminess, but hopefully for all the upcoming travel we don’t run into any issues
I will keep you updated to stay tuned.
