Good morning folks, wow is it mild out there, and humid! The western hilltowns and southwest NH round out the coolest areas with temps in the 40s, but everywhere else is 55-65º, with similar dew point temperatures (hence the condensation on your windows!). In addition, some patchy fog is found in a few spots, but that will evaporate as the morning proceeds forward.

For today, we should be mostly dry as our cold front hangs back west a bit, draped off a low well northwest of our region.

Today will be our last day for a good while (odds are, until next warm season) to see highs in the low to mid 70s. Expect mostly cloudy skies, however.

By later this afternoon, some scattered showers will work into the region, with the most numerous showers occurring tonight and into early Thursday morning.

I mentioned a few shower rounds, and that is round #1.

The rain may fall heavily at times, and heaviest showers should fall south of the Pike, especially in northern CT. Lows tonight in the mid 40s to mid 50s northwest to southeast across the WMass region.

For Thursday, another morning round of showers moves through mainly south of the Pike, though north of the Pike could see a few isolated showers.

Highs will only be in the 50s to near 60º under mostly cloudy skies, and temps will be dropping in the afternoon and evening, as our cold front pulls further east of us.

Thursday night will be cold everywhere, with lows down in the upper 20s to mid 30s under partly cloudy skies early, with clouds increasing late at night.

The pre-dawn hours of Friday morning through into Friday afternoon should feature a third round of scattered instability-type showers as a shortwave moves through with colder air aloft.

Highs will only be in the 40s!! Lows will drop into the low to mid 30s as showers abate.

For Saturday, our pick of the weekend arrives! High pressure produces a sunny day with highs in the 45-50º range – a classic Autumn day! Lows will be in the upper 20s to low 30s.

By Sunday, another storm system will be set to track northwest of us, but this one will be closer than tonight’s storm that is sending its cold front through WMass.

Sunday will start off partly sunny, but quickly cloud up as the front approaches, and highs will be lucky to crest 50º.

Showers arrive sometime in the afternoon, and continue Sunday night into Monday morning. Highs on Monday will only be in the low 50s.

By Monday afternoon as the front passes, cold northwesterly winds are going to usher in even colder air and kick on the Lake Effect snow machine, which will bring scattered snow showers to our high terrain areas west of the CT River Monday night into Tuesday.

In fact, highs on Tuesday may only be in the upper 30s to mid 40s!!

Enjoy the warmth this morning, as it’s fleeting as we enter the middle third of November, my friends. And speaking of which, my 2021 Weather Calendar sale ends a week from THIS Sunday, and it’s got beautiful fan photos this year, so be sure to get one for yourself and bring the WMass community more deeply into your home this year, or give them as holiday gifts.
