A FEW SNOW SHOWER CHANCES THRU WED…
Good evening everybody, we’ve got a pair of cold fronts and associated energy moving through the region tonight, as well as tomorrow night. As such, we can’t rule out a few snow showers in the Taconics, Berkshires and SVT tonight.

Then, colder air aloft should swing through tomorrow, which will destabilize the atmosphere a bit despite the cold surface temps. This may produce some scattered snow showers to form tomorrow afternoon. With a dry surface, we’ll have to see how much of that activity reaches the ground, and how much remains suspended aloft, evaporating before it reaches the ground.

OTHERWISE COLD AND DRY THROUGH SAT…
For tonight, we should be partly cloudy with a few snow showers possible in the western high terrain. Lows should drop into the mid to upper single digits, with a few low teens in northern CT.

For Wednesday, we’ll endure the coldest core of what may be one of the final cold outbreaks across southern New England early in 2019.

West to northwest winds will gust to 30mph at times, and we should see partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper teens to low/mid 20s, with some scattered snow showers possible.

It will be blustery and feel more like the middle of winter, so bundle up peeps!

For tomorrow night, expect lows to crash into the low to mid single digits as any snow showers dry up.

For Thursday and Thursday night we will see temps a few degrees milder, without the snow shower activity.

Friday and Saturday will start to turn milder as high pressure slides east-northeast of our region, putting us in a more southerly flow. Both days will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s Friday, and low 30s to upper 30s Saturday with lows in the upper teens.

On Sunday, there are some signals that our storm system may track a little more southerly, but still northwest of our region. Still, the more southerly it tracks, the more prolonged a period of snow and ice could fall Sunday during the day before changing to rain in the valley and ice to rain in the high terrain.

Stay tuned for updates, as travel may be impacted in the highlands of our region Sunday and especially Sunday night before we turn milder by next week.

Hang in there, folks, a taste of Spring is coming!

Ok, that’s our weather picture, I hope you have a great night, and if you feel my work is worth supporting and keeping alive and thriving, I would be grateful for your support tonight during my 2019 Annual Support Drive which is likely ending soon. Thank you!

SUMMARY:
–Good morning people of the Golden West, we have generally tranquil weather for this week, hooray!
–Today will be mostly sunny and cold.
–Some scattered snow showers are possible tonight, mainly across the Taconics, southwest VT and the northern Berkshires. Many areas won’t see any snow.
–Wednesday and Thursday look tranquil, cold, mostly sunny, with highs in the low to mid 20s and lows in the single digits
–Friday looks mostly sunny with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s as high pressure from the middle of the week tracks east of our region
–This will set up a southwesterly flow for Saturday and highs in the low to mid 30s
–We still have to watch for a Clipper type system for Friday night into Saturday morning that may bring some light snow south of the Pike and into northern CT, but it may pass out to sea to our south
–Sunday into Monday is next widespread inclement weather day, with wintry precip changing to rain a good bet as a developing southeast U.S. ridge pushes our storm system to our northwest, putting us on the warm side of the storm
–Still, there could be some travel headaches in terms of slippery conditions for the high terrain west of I-91

I will keep you updated on all of it. I hope you have a great day, and if you haven’t yet had a chance to contribute to my DHTWN Annual Support Drive for 2019, you can do so securely by clicking the link below. (Check, PayPal and Card options). Thank you!
