Good morning everybody, before I start, magnesium chloride is a magical elixir. You’re welcome.
SIUMMARY
–We’re enjoying our high temps right now (50s, generally, some mid/upper 40s out there), so get outside, say hello, invite them in for coffee or tea, and then send them on their way
–A cold front is slicing through central NY now, and out ahead of it is a line of showers, some of which are fairly heavy
–The rainfall is tracking north-northeast along the orientation of the front, but the whole frontal system is slowly translating east with time
–This means that once the rain gets in here by late morning for the Taconics, Berkshires, Litchfields and SW.VT, and then noon or early PM for the rest of our region, we’ll be wet through much of the afternoon
–We should see up to 4/10ths of an inch of rain in some spots
–Southerly breezes will kick up ahead of the front, and some patchy fog is possbile
–For tonight, the front moves east of us and westerly wind will develop, gusting 20-30mph at times, highest in the high terrain
–Lows will drop into the low 30s and a few snow showers are possible
–Monday will be the coldest day of this week under mostly sunny skies, with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s and lows in the 20s
–Tuesday is mostly sunny with high pressure around, and highs well into the 40s and lows near freezing
–We should see some clouds develop Tuesday night, and we have to watch a coastal storm that looks like it should track out to sea
–However, if it comes close enough, a period of wet snow is possible over the Worcester highlands and southwest NH and possibly the east slopes of the Berkshires if it gets close enough to the coast
–Otherwise expect partly sunny skies Wednesday with highs in the low 50s and lows in the 30s
–Thursday temps and skies should be about the same as Wednesday
–More rain is possible for Friday, but stay tuned, as the timing, intensity and likelihood is uncertain at this time
Have a great day!
