Good morning everybody, please post your condition reports below. Obviously, most if not all valley locations have plain rain falling, but there are some areas of icing mainly above 1000 feet, so it’s those folks I’m looking to in terms of current conditions on the ground.

Look out, summary bellooooowwwwwww!

SUMMARY
–We’ve got a storm well west of us that has spun a lobe of energy through southern New England this morning producing precipitation across the region
–Cold air damming and evaporative cooling have brought temps down into the 20s and low 30s in the Berkshires, SVT, western hilltowns, northern Litchfield County and parts of northern CMass up into SWNH
–Most of us are are above freezing and seeing plain rain showers, but some sleet and freezing rain has been reported, so please comment below if you are seeing icing
–The precipitation shield is becoming more showery, so it won’t be actively raining the whole time this morning, but instead in fits and starts
–Any icing should end by late morning or noon as drier air moves in for a time, though drizzle and possibly some freezing drizzle may linger, despite Winter Weather Advisories expiring at noon
–Highs today will be mostly in the 30s to low 40s, and east winds may gust 20-35mph for the most part, though the northern Berkshires and southwest VT have gusted to and over 40mph already!
–After our afternoon and early evening lull, another disturbance will push through later tonight and bring a final batch of rain that may be heavy at times, arriving before midnight and shipping out before dawn
–Lows will be in the 30s, and some patchy fog is possible late
–For Friday, we’ll start off partly to mostly sunny, but some afternoon clouds should build as we are going to be in a cyclonic flow pattern with an upper level system slowly moving through the region over the weekend
–This upper level vorticity, or atmospheric spin, helps create rising air, and will produce periods of cloudiness and showers, but not for Friday
–In fact, highs on Friday should reach well into the 50s, with some low 60s from Springfield to Hartford and points east! Take an afternoon walk! Hug a tree! Love the one your with!
–Lows will drop into the low to mid 30s under partly cloudy skies
–Then our weekend arrives, which will be cooler, and with periods of sun and clouds
–Saturday afternoon looks more cloudy than the morning, and some scattered showers are expected by afternoon and with very cold temps aloft, some graupel may fall with the rain
–Highs will reach the mid 40s to low 50s with lows in the low to mid 30s with rain or snow showers possible
–Sunday looks more cloudy as the upper low moves more squarely into the region
–Highs will be in the upper 30s to mid 40s with an afternoon shower of rain or snow possible, especially in the high terrain west of the I-91 corridor, with VERY cold lows, down into the teens as a cold front swings through
–Early next week will feature an anomalously cold pool of air overhead, and that will produce Monday highs only in the 20s to low 30s with blustery conditions!
–Highs on Tuesday will be in the 30s to low 40s with continued blustery conditions, but that trough lifts northeast and out of here, just in time for a mid-week batch of rain that may start as some icing by Wednesday night

Have a great day, and please remember that when 4% of my readers support my work with even $5 or 10/year, $2/month (or more if you’re able) I can remain in your service (we’re about 72% of the way to that goal).
