Good morning everybody, HARK! What are these icy crystalline geometry blobs falling through the air? It looks like the Earth is a giant Bundt cake getting dusted with confectioners sugar!
Are you seeing snow where you live? Are your roads just wet, or are an snow covered up in the Berkshires, western hilltowns or southern VT?
It’s pretty outside with more widespread grassy coatings mainly along/west of the I-91 corridor than originally thought, but roads look mainly wet. A few areas may have about half an inch on the ground or so.
This activity will push east and then weaken with time, quitting by around mid to late morning, with a change to rain for some before it does so. The only exception is areas like northeast CT and southern Worcester County which may see a burst of light to moderate rain showers through late morning and quitting by around noon or very early afternoon.
Highs today will reach the mid to upper 40s within a southerly flow, and any snow will melt by end of the day #BuhByeCuteSnow. Some sunny breaks will form by late in the day, and then lows will drop into the upper 20s to low 30s as skies start to break up and clear.
High pressure slides through the region for a day on Wednesday, and it will be gorgeous, a great day for a walk in Nature alone, with friends or with pets.
Highs will climb into the upper 40s to low 50s under mostly sunny skies, with lows bottoming out in the low to mid 30s as clouds increase yet again with another storm system moving in from the west.
This will bring more early morning snowfall into the WMass region, and this round could result in a coating to up to 2″ of snow along and north of Rt. 2 in eastern NY, WMass and southern VT. Highs will reach the mid 40s, and any snow/sleet will change to rain later in the morning, and then precipitation should enter a lull sometime during the afternoon.
Another storm system sweeps northeast into New England Thursday night and through Friday with much milder temps and more rainfall. Lows Thursday night will only be near 40 degrees, and then soar into the 60s for Friday, producing balmy showery conditions.
Our weekend looks like a seasonably cold one, but partly to mostly sunny skies should rule, so it will be a great time to get out and get some fresh air or work on yard or gardening projects in advance of the incoming growing season.
Have a great day, take care, and please consider chipping in even small donations (monthly or annually) to support my work here. I still need your help as my Member/Support Drive winds to a close this coming Sunday, March 22… anything helps the cause of sustaining this resource, thank you.
