Good morning everybody, we’ve got a chilly start to the day, but the birds are chirping, the sun is rising, and we’re still orbiting our star.

While it’s prudent to follow all precautions to ensure we collectively keep the CV from gaining a stronger foothold in our community by flattening its transmissivity curve, we also have to work to be present and appreciate the beauty around us and smile at the good things in our lives right now.

To that end, I practiced some social distancing yesterday and took a lovely, brisk walk in Nature (photo is attached). Hopefully you got outside too!

As for our sensible weather, well, it’s very sensible today! Mostly sunny skies, with some clouds very late. Highs will reach the upper 30s to low 40s as high pressure currently located just north of northern VT slides southeast into Maine later today.

As it does so, moisture will be encouraged to seep in from the west and the south, bringing clouds late, and especially tonight. Lows will drop into the upper 20s to low 30s.

We will be sort of pinned between two areas of better lift and energy early tomorrow morning, which means while we should see some scattered light snow showers, they shouldn’t produce any accumulation, save for parts of southern VT or southwest NH, or MAYBE western Franklin County, all in the higher elevations. Even, some coatings are possible.

Otherwise, any scattered light morning snow showers go to rain showers as the front moves through the region. Highs will rise in southerly flow into the mid to upper 40s. Rain will quit by evening and under partly cloudy skies we should drop into the upper 20s to low 30s.

Wednesday will be gorgeous, one of the picks of the week to be sure. High pressure will build through and produce mostly sunny skies with highs in the 40s and lows near freezing as clouds increase.

Another, stronger system will sweep east into the region, and this one has a better chance of producing some wider spread very light snow and ice accumulations in the WMass region, more so for the high terrain, during early Thursday morning.

I do expect a change to rain showers as the morning wears on as highs climb into the 40s once again. Despite a lull in the action perhaps Thursday afternoon or evening, yet another wave of low pressure is expected to bring more showers Thursday night and through Friday, along with very mild temps!

Lows Thursday night should not drop too much below Thursday’s highs, and then Friday should soar into the 60s for a day before we get cold this coming weekend with fair conditions, though likely breezy on Saturday for a time.

Have a great day, take care, and please consider chipping in even small donations (monthly or annually) to support my work here. I still need your help as my Member/Support Drive winds to a close this coming Sunday… anything helps the cause of sustaining this resource, thank you.
