DAILY DISCUSSION
High pressure to our northeast has drained cooler air into the region, resulting in temps in the low to mid 30s this morning.

As that high pressure pulls east and away into the Canadian Maritimes, clouds will increase today. There will be some sunny breaks or periods, but looks like more clouds than sunshine.

Highs will reach the upper 40s to low 50s as clouds thicken up and lower by evening with lows dropping into the mid to upper 30s.

Rain showers arrive either side of midnight tonight, and some may be moderate to heavy along an incoming warm front. We can’t rule out a rumble of thunder overnight.

In addition, temps may be cold enough during the pre-dawn hours in southern VT and southwest NH to produce some localized freezing rain or sleet, so watch out for that if you’re at elevation in that part of the region tomorrow morning.

For Friday morning, southeast winds will gust 25-40mph at times as our cold front approaches from the west. Rain will fall through the noon hour, and likely quit by early to mid afternoon. Then, winds will shift to the west and gust at similar speeds as sunshine returns before sunset.

Highs will pop up into the mid to upper 50s then fall late in the afternoon, bottoming out into the low 30s with continued breezy conditions

For Saturday, westerly winds continue to gust up to 30mph during the day, but mostly sunny skies will prevail and highs will be squarely in the 40s (in other words, seasonable). Lows will drop into the upper 20s.

Sunday and Monday look like copies of each other (I almost said carbon copies, and then realized how old I am!). Expect mostly sunny skies both days with highs only in the upper 30s to mid 40s from high terrain to valley terrain, with lows in the upper teens to low 20s.

The difference Monday night is that we will be clouding up ahead of our next system, with a mix of snow and rain showers possible after midnight heading into the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning.

Rain showers arrive for Tuesday, and temps will be increasing into the 50s. The rest of next week looks mild, but a bit unsettled, so I will refine that outlook for you as we get closer.

Have a great day folks, and please do help keep me on this job for you and this great community (please read below)!
