Good morning everybody, we had some isolated damage reports yesterday of trees down and power outages in the WMass region, but fortunately the storms weren’t more widespread, and had a couple of inhibiting factors that could have allowed them to REALLY bloom in power.
Still, those that got under them got a deluge in places, which helped at least a little bit, though when you’re low on groundwater, you want more moderate rains over a longer period of time to help soak the ground.
Regardless, our cold front has passed to the east, which brought a cool, breezy night last night, and mostly sunny skies this morning.
An upper level disturbance will float from northwest to southeast through the region today and cause fair weather clouds to develop across much of the WMass region.
These could become especially thick over southwest NH and Worcester County and points east, where a few isolated showers or sprinkles can’t be ruled out, but I think west of the Quabbin we should be dry, and should enjoy at least partial sunshine at times.
Northerly winds will gust 20-30mph and highs will reach the upper 60s to mid 70s.
For tonight, we will clear out as the system departs to our east, and it will be chilly with lows in the mid to upper 40s.
Monday through Wednesday should feature dry conditions, mostly sunny skies with warming temps into the middle of the week.
Highs Monday will reach the mid to upper 70s with lows in the low 50s.
Highs Tuesday will reach the low to mid 80s with lows in the low 60s.
Highs Wednesday will reach the mid to upper 80s with lows in the low to mid 60s as clouds increase late, along with humidity.
High pressure will pass east of our region by Wednesday night which will allow humidity and heat to build, along with a chance for showers Wednesday night late.
By Thursday, a frontal boundary will bring in more scattered showers with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
The late week period into the weekend looks more unsettled, especially for next Saturday with showers and thunderstorms possible and slightly cooler temps in the upper 70s.
We’ll have to continue to rely on watering crops and gardens ourselves, as Mother Nature will not be cooperating much at all over the next 7 days.
Get out and make some Vitamin D this morning before the clouds billow up!
