Good morning everybody, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday today.

Our weather is going to cooperate, so that’s good news. After any patchy fog or morning low clouds burn off, we will be handed a mostly sunny day with highs in the low to mid 80s and dewpoints in the low 60s or so with light and variable wind. It will be humid, but not intolerable. A spot shower or t-storm can’t be ruled out, mainly over the western hilltowns, SVT, or the BLTs (Berkshires, Litchfields, Taconics).

Lows tonight should drop down into the upper 50s to low 60s with a light south winds, and some patchy fog is possible late.

For Sunday, we’ve got a cold front that will be incoming this afternoon, and this should focus an area of showers and possibly strong to severe thunderstorms across a portion of our region.

With a west to southwest flow, we will be warming up and humidity will come up, too. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s and dewpoints should be well into the 60s. We’ll start off with mostly sunny skies, but clouds should build in the afternoon as convection gets underway.

With the potential for some drier air in the southwestern parts of our region, we’re more likely to see the best shower and storm develop occur along and east of I-91, especially southern Vermont, southwest NH, central/eastern Franklin County, and east into Worcester County tomorrow afternoon. Some storms may be some strong to severe with gusty winds and hail.

By Sunday night, we’ll get it cleared out with lows in the low 60s and drier air starting to knock on our doors.

By Monday, lowered humidity with dewpoints in the 50s (hooray!) will arrive on drier northwest winds. It will be a mostly sunny day as high pressure moves through, with highs in the low to mid 80s. Again, a spot shower in the high terrain west of I-91 can’t be ruled out. Lows will be in the low 60s and patchy fog is possible late.

By Tuesday, a warm front will be surging towards New England as our high pressure ridge kicks east and out to sea, encouraging a southwesterly flow of much warmer and more humid air to advect into New England.

This will produce highs in the low to mid 80s and a few scattered showers will be possible in the afternoon. Lows will be in the mid 60s as humidity continues to increase.

The Wednesday through Friday period looks hot, humid, soupy, showery, and thundery.

Expect highs in the mid 80s to low 90s with dewpoints well into the 60s and low 70s, and scattered showers, downpours and thunderstorms each day, some of which may become strong/severe, especially on Wednesday. Lows will be in the 60s to near 70 during this period.

Sometime around Friday or into Saturday a cold front should move through, and dry us out and cool us a bit by end of the weekend, so next weekend looks more pleasant after #SoupRoundNumberTwo

Have a great day, have fun, and stay safe, folks…
