Western Mass Weather for July 2, 2021

SHOWERS, HEAVY AT TIMES, CONTINUE THIS FRIDAY WITH SOME LULLS OR BREAKS AT TIMES… HEAVIER RAINS CURRENTLY IMPACTING NORTHWEST MA AND SVT BEFORE 7AM… TEMPS WILL COOL TODAY AS NORTHEAST FLOW SETTLES INTO THE REGION WITH OUR DAILY HIGHS BEING REACHED RIGHT NOW… SCATTERED SHOWERS TONIGHT, AND MORE SHOWERS TOMORROW AND TOMORROW EVENING AS UPPER LOW MOVES OVERHEAD… THE 4TH LOOKS A BIG BETTER FOR THE AFTERNOON, SOME PARTIAL SUNSHINE POSSIBLE AFTER AM SHOWERS… HOT EARLY NEXT WEEK… 7am Friday…

Good morning everybody, I’m going to double–dash things out for quicker skimming, but the bottom line is showery today, showery tonight, showery tomorrow, showery tomorrow night, less showers Sunday morning, some sunny breaks Sunday, milder Monday, hot and muggy Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday, more seasonable mid to late next week, #pant #pant #pant #pant

YOUR 4THCAST SUMMAHRY
–The cold front has passed to our south, and northeast flow will overspread the region, ensuring our current temps are the highs for today
–Showers continue heavy at times over parts of the WMass region, SVT and SWNH, with a lull in CMass, and northwest CT at 7am
–Many areas received half an inch to 2″ of rainfall just in the last 12 hours, so I think any concern about drought or abnormal dryness is in the rear view mirror
–We can expect scattered showers at times today and tonight with some lulls or lighter periods, with temps now in the mid 60s falling into the mid/upper 50s in northwest MA, SVT and SWNH and the low 60s in WMass and N.CT
–A thunderstorm can’t be ruled out during the next 48 hours
–For tonight, lows will be in the 50s, cool, with showers at times
–Tomorrow, our upper low finally tracks east into our region, and generates a whole new set of scattered showers
–Highs will only reach the upper 50s to low 60s which is 30-35 degrees cooler than our early-week heat wave!
–Scattered showers are expected at night, but should be less numerous than what we get today, tonight and tomorrow
–Lows will be in the mid 50s
–Sunday our upper low is through the region and pulling away slowly, but we will still be under its influence
–Therefore, some scattered lighter showers are possible Sunday morning into early afternoon, with some drying moving in to hopefully give us some partial sunshine by mid to later afternoon with highs in the upper 60s, and lows in the 50s
–For Monday, high pressure moves in and produces mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 70s with a warm front approaching the region from the southwest
–Clouds increase in the evening, and a shower is possible
–Lows will bottom out into the low to mid 60s, and humidity will increase
–Tuesday looks hot, but only for a day. Highs should reach the mid 80s to low 90s with humid conditions
–Hot on Tuesday’s hot heels will be a cold front racing towards our region, and this will bring the chance for showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday (timing not totally certain yet)
–Wednesday looks like a transition day back to more seasonable temps by late week
–Highs should reach the low to mid 80s with showers and thunderstorms, with highs back into the upper 70s with drier conditions by Thursday and likely Friday as well

Have a great day and pack the ‘brellas, galoshes, and other 1940s style rain gear!
