STARTS THIS WEEKEND… 7:35AM SAT…
Good morning everybody, what a week that was! I’m glad we get a little reprieve to enjoy some outdoor activities.
Before I get into the weather report below, I wanted to mention that I am consulting on weather impacts this Summer for a new outdoor event called “Berkshires Busk!” which is happening every weekend in Great Barrington in the southern Berkshires.
It’s a great opportunity to enjoy regional musicians and other types of entertainment while visiting the hub of “south county”, getting a bite to eat, or doing some shopping. Below is a summary of the event and a website link if you want more info:
“Berkshire Busk! is a new 10-weekend summer event in Great Barrington, MA, where street performers (“buskers”) will perform in designated areas in the early evenings of Friday and Saturday. The locations span one end of downtown to the other, and we invite you to experience a new kind of immersive arts experience. The buskers we are inviting to participate will be diverse in age, race, gender, skill, and genre — from jazz, rock and folk bands, to classical music, spoken word, dance, jugglers and more. ”

WEATHER REPORT
At 7am we have a line of showers, some heavy, in northernmost Hampshire County and eastern Franklin County extending into northwest Worcester County, with a few more showers in northwest CT.
These showers will dissipate with time this morning, and/or move out of our region.
Weaker high pressure moves in from the west and will slowly dry us out, and should produce partly sunny skies by afternoon with highs in the 75-80º range. A late afternoon spot shower or storm is possible, but not very likely.
For tonight, lower humidity continues to filter into the region, with lows in the upper 50s with patchy fog late under partly cloudy skies.
For Sunday, we should get a dry day with more partial sunshine and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. A spot shower is possible late, but would be very minor and passing the way it looks now.
At night, however, a warm frontal boundary will approach and humidity will begin to increase. This will keep warmer lows in tact, only dropping to the low to mid 60s, and showers will move in along the front after midnight.
Monday looks quite rainy at the moment with highs in the mid to upper 70s, and showers will likely extend into the night. Lows will dip into the mid 60s.
For Tuesday through Thursday, warmth and humidity will be on the increase with a series of summery days that will produce increasing warmth each day and a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon. Some sunny breaks will no doubt visit our environs, but it looks like a mostly cloudy period as high pressure sets up off the east coast to provide the warmth and humidity but gets flattened enough to prevent full sunshine.
Highs will range from the upper 70s to low 80s Tuesday, to the low to mid 80s Wednesday to the mid to upper 80s on Thursday, and possibly reaching 90º on Friday.
A cold front may work through the region later on Friday or more likely Saturday to cool us back down by end of the weekend, best I can tell, but I will refine as we get closer.
Have a great day!
