Good morning everybody, we’re on to day 4 of this aimless upper level low sitting and spinning over the region, creating a lower to middle atmospheric layer conducive for convection and resultant showers and thunderstorms, which will continue today.

Given that with time, more breaks in the cloud deck are expected to help heat the surface more, we could see some isolated strong to severe thunderstorms today, and these will again be tracking northeast to southwest generally, so keep your gaze to the north-to-northeast direction for incoming weather today.

We’ll see highs reach the mid to upper 70s under partly sunny skies, and while we have a wave of morning showers moving out of SVT and through WMass down into CT with time, the bulk of the activity will form and impact us from about noon through the day and into the evening.

As always, some will see little to no rain, others could see 1-3″ of rain with isolated pockets of hail or strong gusty winds. Temps will drop significantly during the strongest storms as the cold air aloft gets pulled down and the air becomes rain-cooled.

Our upper low finally wobbles south, southeast and east off the New England coast and out to sea, a very persistent feature for us since late last weekend.

Lows tonight will drop into the upper 50s to low 60s with patchy fog developing late.

For Thursday, high pressure noses in and we’ll see a mostly sunny day with highs in the mid 80s, so it’ll be noticeably warmer. An isolated shower or storm is possible, but we should be much drier than the past 4 days. Lows will be warmer, too, dropping only into the mid to upper 60s with continued humidity.

A cold front draped southward off of low pressure racing east through Canada will produce a mostly cloudy day with more afternoon showers and thunderstorms, so we’re not done with the wet weather this week. Highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, and lows will settle down to near 60 degrees with patchy fog possible, along with a few last showers.

Saturday is the pick of the weekend, and it couldn’t come at a better time to celebrate the 4th. Highs will be in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies with lows near 60 degrees. Humidity should be lower as well.

Sunday looks mostly sunny for now, but there is a chance for a few showers in the afternoon/evening. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s. Overall, the weekend is looking pretty good compared to the past 4 days.

Humidity and shower chances will increase next week with temps continuing in the low to mid 80s.

Stay tuned for updates later today as another active weather day is on the way, thanks as always for your condition reports!
