[ALERT]: WIND CHILL ADVISORIES ARE UP FOR SOUTHERN VT, THE BERKSHIRES, TACONICS, WESTERN HILLTOWNS AND NORTHERN LITCHFIELD COUNTY CT FROM 1AM-9AM FRIDAY MORNING… THE COLD COMETH… 6pm Thursday…
Good evening everybody, we’ve had some north winds gusting to 20mph or so this afternoon, and it’s cold out and getting colder from the northwest (see attached current temperature chart).
We’ll see some more breezy conditions overnight which (with lows expected either side of the 0º mark) will drop our wind chill readings to 15 below zero or so.
It’ll be mostly clear, so just be sure to bundle up if you are out late or up and out super early tomorrow morning.
Highs will only reach the teens with lows again a bit below zero Friday night.
Saturday through Monday look to produce abundant sunshine throughout the period, though a few more clouds will be around Sunday with a dry cold frontal passage later in the afternoon.
Next chance for snow showers is Tuesday or Wednesday with a Clipper system as the flow will be most assuredly out of the northwest, which is known for driving these little moisture-starved lows at New England.
Anyway, I will keep you updated as long as the respiratory activities continue in and out of my lungs… Have a great night!

DISCUSSION:
Good morning everybody, our cold front is moving through the region as I type, and has kicked off periods of accumulating snow mostly down in CT, after a change from rain, though some rain may still be mixed in by 7am or so.
Let me know what you’re seeing in your neck of the woods?
Given the light rain preceding it, snow this morning should produce some especially greasy/slippery road surfaces in northern CT or southern Worcester County so watch out for slippery travel conditions.
North of the MA/CT line, while there are snow showers developing, and while we’ll see some coatings in parts of WMass today (mostly the southern half), this is mainly a northern CT impact with a coating to 2″ possible by noon.
There’s just too much dry air moving in from the northwest to get much accumulation and steady snow happening in the majority of MA this morning.
Our front keeps moving through the region, and by later afternoon we should see some sunshine the further north and west you go.
We’re seeing our high temperatures for the day, and they will drop in the afternoon, plummeting into the single digits above and below zero with northwest winds gusting to 25mph tonight and into the morning.
For Friday, we’re quite cold with sunshine and highs in the low to mid teens and lows in the single digits below zero with lighter winds.
Because our massive 1040mb high pressure system will track east-northeast and block our southern coastal low pressure system from coming up the coastline to New England we can expect fair weather all weekend and through Monday, most likely.
Highs on Saturday will reach the upper teens to low 20s with lows in the single digits.
Highs on Sunday will reach the mid 20s to low 30s with lows in the teens as another cold front moves through the region.
Highs on Monday will be in the 20s with lows in the low teens, so the next 4 days after today look to be abundantly sunny.
After that, we have the potential for an Alberta Clipper system (which are generally moisture-starved low pressure systems originating in western Canada) to bring some snow showers to the region Tuesday and Wednesday, but we’ve seen lots of early snow signals turn into nothing, so I won’t be holding my breath!
Have a great day, and I hope things go your way today!
P.S. I am running a clearance sale on some leftover 2022 Weather Wall Calendars so if you’ve already private messaged me I will be responding to you today to make arrangements, but if you haven’t reached out and are interested, just shoot me a private message and we’ll be in touch about it today, thanks.
