AND JUST LIKE THAT WINTER IS SETTING IN ATMOSPHERICALLY… ENJOY THE CALM CONDITIONS THROUGH THURSDAY… (7:30am Sun)
Good morning everybody, in case no one told you, it’s cold out this morning. #WickedCold
And don’t take my word for it, just listen below to The Fawns from Northampton, MA! They know a thing or two about wicked cold!
SUMMARY
–For today and tomorrow, we will enjoy mostly sunny skies with light winds.
–Highs will be in the mid to upper 20s with lows in the single digits both nights
–Low pressure will track east through the Great Lakes and through the St. Lawrence River valley to our north Tuesday and Wednesday
–This will allow temps to moderate a bit as a brief yet fairly feeble mild surge brings high temps into the mid 30s Tuesday and upper 30s on Wednesday
–I do not think that many of us are going to see the 40 degree mark for a while
–We can expect more partly sunny skies as some moisture moves through the flow
–Lows will be in the mid to upper teens both Tuesday and Wednesday
–Thursday looks like we will see one more fair weather day before our pattern looks to become more active and wintry for the last third of January
–Highs on Thursday will only be in the 20s after the first of two cold fronts passes through
–A storm system and associated plume of moisture will be streaming in from the southwest ahead of a second, more strong cold front for Friday
–This could bring some light snow accumulations to our region with highs in the low 30s
–Saturday looks fair, but another more potent winter storm could bring more snowy impacts for Sunday into next Monday
All this to stay, remained tuned my friends, the signals keep coming, including the attached CPC temperature outlook into the first third of February. It indicates that we are likely to be significantly below normal in terms of temperatures, and with a continued busy southern stream being supplied storms off of the Pacific Ocean, vigilance will be my middle name!
Return back here even if I don’t show in your feed, as I will be your #WinterShepherd all season long and beyond.
Have a great day!
