DISCUSSION:
Good morning folks, our latest mixed mess slop storm is exiting the building stage right today, but we have some lingering effects such as patchy dense fog along the Taconic and Berkshire mountain ranges and the connecting valleys/lowlands up and down through CT, MA and VT.

In addition, we’ve got some lingering light showers of plain rain and freezing rain in northeast CT and CMass possibly grazing the Monadnock Region points east, and a few drizzle patches in other spots.

This light malaise, which may cause some icy spots early, is all tracking northeast and away from the region, and fog will also lift later this morning as temps come up and move higher than the dewpoint temps, creating overall improving conditions for the region.

The daily big picture is that high pressure starts to nudge into the greater WMass region as our coastal low tracks east of Nantucket and into the Gulf of Maine to blow wet snow all over “The County”, a/k/a Aroostook County which occupies the crown of Maine.

Said high pressure will give us a nice day with highs in the 30s north (more clouds than sun there), and upper 30s to mid 40s for much of the WMass region east and south into CMass and N.CT with partly to mostly sunny skies.

For tonight mostly clear skies will develop though we can’t rule out a stray upslope snow shower in the southern Greens as the upper trough swings through and out to sea. Lows will be in the teens to low 20s.

For Wednesday, our upper trough tracks away and high pressure will sit on top of us with sunny skies and highs in the upper 30s to low 40s as more melting continues, with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s as clouds increase.

A frontal boundary will move through sometime early on Thursday bringing a few light rain or snow showers, with highs rising into the upper 30s to mid 40s behind the front. Lows will be in the 20s with partly cloudy skies.

On Friday, another nice day arrives with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 30s to low 40s and lows near freezing.

A cold front will move through sometime on Saturday, which should be partly sunny with highs well into the 40s – the mildest and nicest day we’ve had in quite some time!

The front passes likely without even a whimper, and lows will then tank into the teens, which sets us up for a cold Sunday through Tuesday period with highs in the 20s to low 30s, during which a coastal storm will be nearby to our south.

As of now, it looks like it passes out to sea, but if it did trend back northwest it could bring accumulating snowfall to the greater WMass region, so stay tuned, but don’t hold your breath the way this winter has played out.

Ok folks, that about does it for now, hope you have a great day, and please read below if I’m 1. not showing in your feed, 2. you have trouble finding posts, or 3. you want to connect outside of here. Thanks!
