Good morning everybody, did anyone watch the Super Bowl? Awesome game, very evenly matched, I caught the second half, and it was super fun to watch.
Anyhoo, nobody is here for my football play by play game rewind commentary, so off we go into the wild blue yonder!
SUMMARY
–Multiple disturbances this week: Tuesday late morning into afternoon, late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, late Wednesday night into Thursday, then Thursday night into Friday, with another one possible Saturday night into Sunday – BUSY!
–For today, morning snow showers over the NW corner of MA and SW VT stop soon, and give way to a partly sunny day on average, with the most sunshine in the valley
–Highs will reach the low to mid 40s with a mild westerly flow. Lows will dip into the upper 20s under partly cloudy skies
–For Tuesday, a weak disturbance and nearby frontal boundary interact to produce some scattered rain showers later Tuesday morning into the afternoon
–Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the low to mid 40s
–If precip gets into the Berkshires early enough, some freezing rain is possible
–Lows Tuesday night will dip into the upper 20s
–By or around midnight into Wednesday morning, a cold front will be dropping south through the region, and may produce enough convergence to generate some mixed showers of snow and ice changing to rain that should end by mid day on Wednesday
–Highs on Wed. will be cooler in the 30s, and mostly cloudy skies are expected
–Stronger low pressure tracks northeast toward the Mid-Atlantic region Wednesday night and brings accumulating snowfall late, lasting into Thursday morning when a general 1-3″ of snow is possible
–Lows Wednesday night will be cold, in the low 20s
–As milder air moves in aloft Thursday AM, we should see a change to sleet and freezing rain across the region with highs in the mid 30s
–Another storm then runs right over us Thursday night and changes most if not all of us from ice to rain into Friday with highs near 40 degrees, though some areas north of Route 2 may still be icing, stay tuned for updates
–Saturday looks nice, but Sunday morning may feature more wintry weather, so keep it glued here and I will refine things as we get closer to and move through each day of this very inclement week ahead!
Have a great day!
