Good evening folks, we had another beautiful day out there, two in a row!

Can we get a three-fer? Why yes we can!

SUMMARY
–High pressure presses (get it? Pressure presses) eastward and off the Mid-Atlantic coast overnight and into tomorrow
–For tonight, we will still have westerly flow, which will allow temps to drop into the mid to upper teens for lows, as winds calm
–On Friday, we’re sunny as high pressure builds through, centered to our south
–Expect plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 30s
–Southwesterly flow develops tomorrow night in advance of a low pressure system that will pass to our northwest on Saturday, placing us in the mild sector of the storm
–Lows will drop into the low 20s Friday night, as clouds increase
–Snow showers will start as soon as before dawn in northwest CT and the Berkshires, and then track northeast throughout the WMass, CMass, NCT, SVT, SWNH regions
–With mild flow incoming, most low elevation areas will change to rain pretty quickly, and may even start as mixed snow/rain with scattered slushy coatings
–However, the Berkshires, western hills, SVT, SWNH, northwest CT and isolated spots in eastern Franklin County and northern Worcester could see healthy coatings up to an inch or so of wet snow, before turning to rain in the afternoon. Sleet may mix in too.
–Highs will reach the upper 30s to low 40s and precip quits by mid to late afternoon
–Lows Saturday night will be in the upper 20s to low 30s with patchy fog possible by Sunday morning
–More clouds than sun on Sunday, with another weak system to our south that may produce some early freezing rain in northwest CT, the southern Berkshires, and southwestern hilltowns before turning to rain showers
–Highs will reach the low to mid 40s
–Some showers are possible Sunday night with lows in the mid 30s
–Monday starts off mild, but a cold front will have passed through the region, and after highs in the low 40s, will drop into the teens Monday night and be cold through at least Wednesday morning
–It will be blustery Monday night with northwest wind gusts 20-30mph, that should extend into Tuesday
–Tuesday looks cold and sunny with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s, with lows again in the teens
–Tuesday night into Wednesday would be the first potential for a storm, but it looks like it will stay south of us right now
–We get milder by Wed/Thurs, and then we should see another cold shot late week into next weekend, when another storm potential could coincide, so we monitor for now

Have a great night, and I would be so grateful for your membership in my community-backed Support Network so I can continue to focus on this resource and serving you throughout 2021 and beyond (link below)…

Good morning western Massachusetts!! How are you doing out there? Are you ready to rock?

Ohh, whoops, sorry… it’s been exactly a year since I played my last show, which was at the Academy of Music in Northampton as part of the Back to the Baystate Series, and I’m clearly a little disoriented.

Were any of you there? That was a blissful time of reuniting with many old musical compadres from back in the (very, very drunken) day when I came up in this music scene. I long to do shows again, as do MANY of my friends, so here’s hoping that by the end of this year that happens.

Moving on to the weather, we’ve got pretty sunrise underway for some, and we’ve had a windy overnight with our cold front moving through.

Blustery winds continue to gust 25-40mph for some, and that will continue this morning, and slacken to gusts in the 20s later today, with light winds tonight.

High temperatures are essentially being set right now, and they will cool several degrees later today, hanging in the 30s to may be near 40º for a couple of spots as mostly sunny skies develop between incoming high pressure, and a departing strengthening low located just east of the crown of Maine this morning.

For tonight, lows will plummet into the teens across the region with good radiational cooling thanks to dry air, calming wind and clear skies.

Also watch out for black ice from snow melt and refreezing tonight and early tomorrow morning.

For Friday, another fair weather day as high pressure crests through the region, the center of which will pass to our south.

Highs will reach the 35-40º range with light winds under sunny skies, with lows in the low 20s as we cloud up.

Expect a brief period of accumulating wet snow in the Berkshires/Taconics and western hilltowns (SVT and northern Litchfields too) early Saturday morning before changing to rain as southwesterly flow warms us up as the day progresses.

A coating to 2″ is possible before it gets washed away by afternoon with rain showers that last through much of the day across the region. Highs will reach the low to mid 40s with a mostly cloudy Saturday night and lows near freezing.

For Sunday, we start off with partly sunny skies as a narrow ridge of high pressure floats through before another system passes into the region for Sunday night into Monday, bringing more rain showers.

Highs should reach the mid to upper 40s, and rain should hold off until the night, and last into Monday morning, with lows in the low to mid 30s.

Monday starts off showery, and ends partly sunny with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s earlier on, and dropping during the afternoon as gusty westerly flow builds in and brings a shot of cold air Monday night into Tuesday night. Lows will be in the teens.

Tuesday will be fair and cold, with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s and lows in the teens, with a possible coastal storm close by Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Should this form, we could see a snowstorm here, but it’s a very low chance right now, so just worth keeping an eye on.
