Good morning everybody, and Happy Valentine’s Day! Some folks well east of the I-91 corridor got a fluff storm with some amounts as high as 6″ or 7″ from what I’ve heard… how much snow did you end up with? The rest of us ended up with mainly coatings. This morning we’re left with very cold temps that will last until Wednesday morning, followed by a run toward 60º Thursday and rain at night, but before we dive into the details below, let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with a new location in West Springfield, MA.

DISCUSSION:
Good morning everybody, I hope you slept well and are feeling good when you read this report.

We’re starting off the single digits northwest and teens in the Pioneer Valley points south and east.

We’ve also got clearing to the west over the Berkshires and Litchfields pushing through the Pioneer Valley today and further east with time, as leftover snow showers in easternmost Worcester County winds down around dawn.

A 3-7″ snowfall materialized overnight in those areas well east of the I-91 into CMass and northeast CT, and eastern MA.

How much snow did you get? Any pics you could share?

It was SUPER fluffy, so in most cases, quite broom-able.

For today, mostly sunny skies develop, though some areas will have clouds interspersed with the sun, especially north.

Highs will only be in the teens to low 20s, and with a northwest wind gusting 20-25mph at times, wind chills will be colder, so bundle up today.

For tonight, lows will drop into the single digits below and above zero under partly cloudy skies.

As such, we will experience our coldest night for at least the next 10 days, I believe, so improvements in the Cold Department are underway #TheMildeningCometh

At least the wind will be slackening overnight thanks to high pressure moving into the region, and this lighter wind regime continues on Tuesday with highs in the 20s to low 30s under mostly sunny skies.

We’ve got one more cold night Tuesday night, with lows in the single digits to teens under clear skies which will be perfect for viewing the Full Snow Moon!

Highs will rebound nicely Wednesday with temps reaching the low to mid 40s under partly sunny skies, with clouds thickening up late Wednesday night with lows in the mid 30s.

On Thursday, a robust storm system will be set to pass well north of us through Friday, which places us in the southeastern warm sector, and southwest winds are likely to gust over 30mph on that day, maybe up to 40mph as very mild air floods the region with highs reaching well into the 50s to near 60º.

Showers will arrive by sometime in the afternoon or evening, and Thursday night looks quite rainy, and we can’t rule out some thunderstorms, too.

Rain continues until early Friday morning, and may end as a brief period of snow in SVT and the northern Berkshires/Taconics, followed by breezy northwest winds ushering in cooler temps with highs either side of 40º and lows in the teens.

The weekend looks tranquil, sunny, and seasonably cold with highs in the 30s and lows in the teens to near 20º, with milder temps expected next week.

Ok folks, that about does it for now, hope you have a great day, and please read below if I’m 1. not showing in your feed, 2. you have trouble finding posts, or 3. you want to connect outside of here. Thanks!
