SUMMARY:
–Good morning everybody, after a cold start with temps mostly in the 20s with some black ice out there along with freezing fog in the Berkshires, The Mildening commences more deeply today!
–With a southeast ridge off the U.S. coastline, we’re getting southerly flow in here, and that means milder air
–Highs will be well into the 40s today with sunshine, though clouds will increase late as a warm front/cold front combo advances from the east, draped off a strong storm passing east through the Great Lakes today
–We’ll see southerly wind gusts up to 25mph in spots today, and with clouds increasing tonight region-wide, some gusts may reach 30mph, especially in our northern zones
–Lows will remain above freezing in the mid to upper 30s, so The Meltening will continue, along with a few scattered showers arriving after midnight
–Tomorrow will be the mildest day we’ve had in quite some time, with highs reaching the mid 40s to mid 50s generally speaking, with morning scattered showers, and some isolated ones in the afternoon
–Southwest winds will gust over 20mph at times, before our cold front moves through late afternoon and evening and veers our wind out of the west and northwest
–Temps will drop into the teens to low 20s for lows, and a few snow showers are possible in the Berkshires and SVT
–For Sunday, a coastal low will pass well south of us, and bring a coating to 2″ of snow to southern CT, RI and the Cape and Islands, with scattered coatings at best in WMass / CMass / northern CT mainly south of the Pike, nothing north
–Highs will be in the 20s and lows in the mid to upper single digits
–Monday and Tuesday are cold and fair with highs teens to 20s Monday and 20s to low 30s Tuesday with cold lows in the single digits Monday night, and high singles to mid teens Tuesday night
–A warm front passes through by Wednesday, with highs climbing toward 40º under partly sunny skies, and then showers may arrive as early as Thursday afternoon with highs getting above 50º for some of us
–Rain may last into Friday, and another cool down is possible for the following weekend
