Good morning everybody, this report is going to be short, as I am off to the post office to ship the final batch of my 2021 Weather Wall Calendars this morning.
On that note, I will have some a limited amount of extras (maybe about 30-50 calendars), so if you are interested in purchasing, please private message me and I will put you on a follow-up list for next week when the melee has cleared and I can get a handle on numbers.
As for our weather, we have a weak shortwave moving southeast through the region today, and that will bring snow showers through western MA, eastern NY, southern VT, and northwest CT capable of producing scattered coatings in valley areas, as well as a coating to 2″ in those high terrain locations, including our western hilltowns.
In fact, in eastern Bennington County and western Windham County, anywhere from 2-6″ could fall, especially higher up in elevation above 1500 feet.
Snow showers should start soon in the Berkshires, and then over the day spread southeast through our region.
Once they reach the valley they may present is rain showers or mixed rain and snow or even rain with some graupel mixed in.
It will be mostly cloudy with highs in the 30s, and lows tonight in the upper 20s to low 30s with some continued lake effect and/or upslope snow showers in southern VT where additional accumulations will be possible.
For Thursday and Friday, it will be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 40s, with some upper 30s for highs Thursday in the high terrain. Lows will be in the low to mid 20s Thursday night and low 30s Friday night.
The weekend looks mostly cloudy with low pressure passing northwest of us Saturday night into Sunday spreading rain into the area.
This rain may start off as freezing rain in northwest MA and southern VT and the Berkshires Saturday night, so I will update you. Highs will be in the 40s this weekend.
Then next week could feature two storm systems between the Tuesday and Thursday timeframe, and wintry weather is also possible then.
So stay tuned for updates, and remember many folks won’t see accumulation today, but if it snows where you are, please send pics, thank you! Off to the post office after 8 straight mornings, noons and nights packaging and shipping, yahoo!
