SUMMARY
–Good morning peeps, we’re starting off cold but should rebound into the 30s on a southwesterly wind
–This southerly flow will develop ahead of an incoming cold front that’s attached to a storm tracking west to east well north of our region
–This will develop some snow squalls over New York state which should weaken a bit into snow showers and over the Taconics, Berkshires, Greens, Litchfields and western hillltowns
–A coating up to an inch of snow is possible as this cold front moves through
–Northwest winds will gust to 30mph at times on Friday. With highs in the upper 20s over the high terrain, wind chills may approach the single digits
–Under sunny skies, highs will be in the low 30s for the lower elevations, like the Pioneer Valley and northern CT
–Lows Friday night plummet into the single digits as winds slacken and radiational cooling perfects itself
–Saturday is quite cold with highs in the 20s, but it will be mostly sunny. Lows will be in the teens
–Sunday through Tuesday looks like more sunshine and cold temps with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s and lows in the teens
–Tranquil weather abounds, but I will keep an eye on the coastal storm for Tuesday
–I think that too much cold and dry air will be banked in a flat orientation to our north and northeast such that it shunts the storm south of us
–However, little 100 mile changes in the position of that cold air could allow some snowfall in here, so I’ll keep you updated
Have a great day!
