6:55AM-FRI: HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE! HERE’S SOME DENSE FOG TO CELEBRATE! MILD TODAY, WITH A FEW SHOWERS ESPECIALLY IN THE MID AFTERNOON TO EARLY EVENING WITH A DRIER LOOK TOWARDS MIDNIGHT… SHOWERY AND RAINY FOR NEW YEAR’S DAY AND MILD… A FEW MORE SHOWERS AND MILD SUNDAY WITH MUCH COLDER AIR MOVING IN AT NIGHT WITH A FEW SNOW SHOWERS… COLD EARLY NEXT WEEK, MILDER MID TO LATE WEEK, MORE COLD AND POTENTIAL STORMINESS LATE NEXT WEEK INTO THAT FOLLOWING WEEKEND…
Good morning everybody, we’ve got more dense fog to deal with this morning, so give yourself extra travel time due to lowered visibilities across the region. In a bit of a break of our recent rinse-and-repeat weather, we’ve got some seesawing to go through over the next 7-10 days, but before I dive into those details I’ve got a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with a new location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER BULLETIN
–Areas of fog, some of it dense, will rule this morning
–Dense Fog Advisories are up for Worcester County, but any of us could see visibilities at or under a quarter mile this morning
–Eventually the fog will break up as temps rise into the mid 40s or so later today, hanging in the low 40s north of Rt. 2
–Expect mostly cloudy skies, but a few breaks of sun are possible before a little wave moves through during the afternoon
–Before that wave, some drizzle patches are possible, but as the wave comes through, we should see some scattered showers as well from about 3-7pm, into the evening
–Hopefully we’ll be on the drier side after that passes for any New Year’s Eve activities and travel
–Lows tonight will sit down to either side of 40º with some drizzle possible, and a few showers in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday morning
–New Year’s Day looks will feature on-and-off showers with mild temps rising into the mid 40s to low 50s for highs, under cloudy skies… a good day to go inward and chart a course for 2022
–Saturday night looks to feature the steadiest and heaviest rainfall, with lows in the low 40s
–On Sunday, some scattered showers are possible as well with mild highs in the mid to upper 40s
–A cold front will be approaching and moving through in the evening, and may flip some of us to snow showers
–Much colder air rushes in Sunday night on blustery northwesterlies gusting 20-25mph with lows crashing into the mid to upper teens and wind chills as low as the upper singles
–Monday and Tuesday are sunny and cold with highs in the mid to upper 20s Monday and mid to upper 30s on Tuesday, with lows in the teens Monday night and 20s on Tuesday night
–The mid to late week period features another mildening with highs cresting the 40º mark, with more cold working back into the region by late Friday into Saturday which may be accompanied by a storm, so stay tuned for updates, and be safe tonight!
Have a great day and night!
