Good morning everybody, we emerge again into the misty foggy doldrums of 2021’s last hours. It’s been a challenging year for all of us, so if you’re still here, acknowledge and remember the good things and experiences you had as we head toward 2022. We can finally see some slow changes to our weather pattern emerging, but before I dive into those details I’ve got a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with a new location in West Springfield, MA.

DISCUSSION
Good morning everybody, we’ve got yet another day of dreariness to move through, so let’s do our face yoga, raise those eyebrows, force a smile, then let it go. Then repeat that 10 times, do some stretches, have some water, and let’s hurl ourselves collectively into another day on Earth as human beings.

As for our weather, we have low level moisture, weak waves, and weak flow and lift through the region, so we’re stuck in the clouds more or less through the weekend.

For today, expect cloudy skies with patches of fog and drizzle this morning. A few areas may be freezing on contact early in the southern Greens of VT or the Monadnock Region of NH, but otherwise no travel issues expected.

Highs should rise into the upper 30s to low 40s. An occasional shower or sprinkle is also expected today, tonight and into tomorrow as well.

Lows tonight will settle into the mid 30s, so zero freezing concerns exist at the moment. Patchy dense fog will reform, drizzle patches will float through.

We’re basically living in the clouds at ground level into tomorrow, for all intents and purposes.

Friday will feature a little more moisture, and so we’ll tend towards seeing a few showers than we will drizzle patches. We may even see a few glimpses of sun, but they will be short-lived.

It will be milder as well as southwest flow increases and warmer air approaches from the southwest, which will put highs into the mid 40s.

New Year’s Eve may see a shower or two, but it should be mostly dry and conducive of any travel you’re doing – just leave the road sodas at home (those who know that term, know what I mean – takes one to know one, 13 years sober today, btw).

Lows New Year’s Eve will rest into the mid to upper 30s, and showers will be increasing during Saturday morning.

New Year’s Day is a showery and cloudy one, but also mild with highs in the 45-50º range for many of us.

Saturday night also looks to feature some showers with lows in the mid to upper 30s.

A cold front approaches on Sunday which will start us into a slow pattern change back to wintry conditions, but it won’t stick right away.

Sunday’s highs are realized early, reaching the mid to upper 40s, and then falling later in the day as a cold front sweeps in. Any Sunday rain showers may turn to snow showers briefly before ending, and temps will plummet into the teens for lows with a shift to westerly winds gusting up to 25mph overnight and into Monday.

And what comes out on Monday? THE SUN!!!!

But it will be blustery and cold, with highs only in the 20s and lows in the teens.

Tuesday and Wednesday moderate back up to highs in the 30s with continued fair weather, partly to mostly sunny skies.

We crest the 40º mark late week, but more cold looks to move in over next weekend, and we always have to watch for storm potential when cold is arriving or leaving New England, so I will keep an eye on that for you.

Have a great day!
