SNOW DIDN’T MATERIALIZE AS MUCH AS WAS THOUGHT OVERNIGHT… ANY LIGHT RAIN OR MIXED PRECIP ENDS TODAY… COLD AIR MOVES IN ON GUSTY NW WINDS TONIGHT AND TOMORROW… WE MODERATE MID WEEK, THEN LOOK TO A HEAVY RAIN EVENT LATER THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY… WEEKEND LOOKS BETTER… (6:05am Monday)
Good morning everybody, well that turned out to be fairly dud-like last night in terms of snow production. The heaviest precipitation missed the timing of incoming cold air aloft, and without Arctic air in place, we could not generate much in the way of snow fall to the surface.
I imagine some folks did see some very light accumulations of snow and sleet last night, so please post any amounts or road conditions below.
SUMMARY
–For the rest of today, we’ll see mostly cloudy skies with some sunny breaks possible
–Highs today will run from the mid 30s to the low 40s as colder air is set to move in tonight
–For tonight, northwest winds will kick up behind the front and gust to 30mph at times
–Expect lows in the upper teens to low 20s under partly cloudy skies
–For tomorrow, northwest wind gusts 25-30mph continue under mostly sunny skies with highs only in the 20s. Cold!
–Lows plummet Tuesday night into the low teens under clear skies
–Wednesday rebounds up into the upper 30s under mostly sunny skies as high pressure scoots east and returns a southwesterly flow in advance of late-week rains
–Lows Wednesday night will be in the 20s
–Thursday starts off mostly sunny bud clouds up as a storm system is set to cut to our west, putting us on the warm wide of the storm
–Highs Thursday should crest 40 degrees, and rain showers arrive Thursday night, and could be heavy at times
–On Friday, a deep southerly flow sets up and we could not only reach 50 degrees, but could see some thunderstorms as well
–Heavy rain and possible areas of flooding is expected for Friday, before we cool down for a nicer and drier weekend
Have a great day!
