Good morning everybody, and happy(?!) first day of meteorological winter. We’re kind of in the weather doldrums – a rather limp, insipid, and uneventful, period of quasi-convalescence after all the very active weather earlier this year, which I suppose is rather welcome.

We do have a series of light to moderate impacts to work through over the next week, but before we jump into the details, I’ve got a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, who just opened a new location in West Springfield, MA.

A NOTE FROM OUR SPONSOR:
DHTWN Is Sponsored by Members, Patrons & Tandem Bagel Company: No matter the weather, Tandem Bagel is always there for you at several valley locations to make your mornings brighter! With bagels baked fresh daily, house-whipped cream cheese, coffee, and tons of lunch options, Tandem is the perfect quick stop for lunch, breakfast, or a coffee and bagel to go. WEATHER BULLETIN:
–A rather quiet Wednesday is on tap as we await the passage of a warm front overnight
–West winds may kick up to 20mph at times in gusts today, and highs are expected to reach the upper 30s to mid 40s across the WMass region from NW to SE under partly sunny skies
–Clouds will be increasing tonight as a storm system passes well to our north, floating a warm front our way
–We can expect some light showers of snow to develop after midnight, and a coating to an inch of new snow is possible over the southern Greens of VT by tomorrow morning
–Lows will fall into the 25-30º range, so any overnight precip should be in the form of snow, but should change to rain tomorrow morning, especially in the Pioneer Valley
–Mixed rain and snow showers change to rain showers and last into the noon hour or early afternoon
–Thereafter, we fully enter a mild sector for an afternoon, and highs should rise into the 45-50º range with southwest winds gusting to 25mph at times
–A cold front will sweep this tiny mild sliver out to sea, as is typical for this late-year period as the warm surges succumb to the relentless sweep of cold swipes that come as our sunlight wanes to a mininum
–This will bring another round of showers Thursday evening and then west winds will veer out of the west and gust to 30mph with lows dropping into the upper 20s to low 30s
–Friday looks beautiful but blustery with highs west winds gusting to 30mph and highs in the mid 30s to low 40s under mostly sunny skies
–Lows will drop into the 20s as a few snow showers pass through late Friday night into early Saturday with another Canadian wave
–The weekend looks gorgeous with highs in the 35-40º range under partly to mostly sunny skies with lows in the 20s to near 30º
–Monday looks showery with another system likely passing west of us, and yet another system will likely move through the region on Wednesday, but none of these look overly impactful at the moment
–Temps will hover in the 30s to low 40s for the most party with lows in the 20s to near 30º.

Have a great day!
