TODAY’S NUTSHELL: A pair of warm days (Fri. & Sat.) are upon us with highs either side of 80º and lows in the 60s. By late this afternoon into early evening some scattered showers and thunderstorms will work through the region, followed by some patchy fog overnight. Saturday will see a cold front moving through at night, before which scattered strong to severe t-storms are possible. Sunday looks sunnier, cooler with a shower possible, followed by a mild and sunny early-week period with even cooler temps and rain by Thursday.

YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, fortunately the patchy fog developed more to our south, though there are some fog and drizzle patches around as we wake up to a very mild morning in the upper 50s to mid 60s with mostly cloudy skies.
As for today, we’ll be watching an upper low near the western Great Lakes tracking east toward northern New England by Saturday and Sunday, and as ths occurs, we’ll see another round of showers and thunderstorms push into the greater WMass region most likely by late afternoon, and working through our area before midnight.
Any storms would be strongest in SVT and the Berkshires and slowly weaken as they track east away from better dynamics.
Highs today will climb into the upper 70s to low 80s, and we should see some partly sunny periods with dewpoints in the 60s, so it’ll feel like an early summer day by afternoon, I believe.
A broken line of showers and storms will be pressing east toward the VT/MA-NY state line by mid to late afternoon, but should be starting to weaken as they do.
Any showers/storms move through early tonight, and then we’ll see that activity dissipate with patchy fog possible and lows near 60º.
For Saturday, while we could see a lone shower or thunderstorm in the morning, it is the afternoon period during which we should see our best chance for scattered strong to severe thunderstormns, especially west of the I-91 corridor.
A rough timeframe would be 1pm to 8pm, and this activity could come in a couple of rounds (one early afternoon, the second late P.M.).
Torrential rain, frequent lightning, and strong gusty winds are all possible, hail as a secondary threat.
Highs Saturday will reach to either side of 80º, and a cold front will swing through at night, dropping lows into the low to mid 50s.
For Sunday, our upper low will be moving through northern New England and floating a cold pool of air aloft, so some instability showers will be possible amidst a partly to mostly sunny day with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s with lows in the mid to upper 40s.
Early next week will start off with drying northwest flow and gusts 20-30mph under mostly sunny skies for Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.
By Wednesday, clouds will be increasing as another upper low begins to make its approach from the west, and highs should only reach the low 60s with some showers possible late in the day, or at night.
By Thursday into Friday we should see cooler temps with highs only in the 50s with the potential for a full-on coastal rainstorm developing so I will keep you updated as we get closer.
Have a great day!
