YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, well well well, Dumbo The Nut forgot about the return of Daylight Saving Time! It’s kind of par for the course the way past 12 months has gone. Some years are easier than others, and this past period does not qualify, but such is life and onward we trudge. Coffee helps!!!! LOL
As for our weather, luckily for us we’re entering a quiescent phase after a very busy, cold and windy winter season. We’ll empty out into milder temps this coming week and weekend for sure, and the wind should come down from recent craziness with little precipitation expected until later next Sunday when a strong front may bring a period of moderate to heavy rainfall with strong southerly winds possible.
Having said all that, we’ll still experience breezy periods with gusts of 15-30mph later today (maybe up to 35mph at times), and southerly gusts by Tuesday as milder air maximizes into our region.
For today, we start off mostly sunny with highs cresting into the mid 30s to low 40s. Clouds will increase later this morning into the afternoon as a Clipper low dives southeast from Lake Superior and heads through northern New England overnight into very early Monday morning.
While a valley sprinkle or a hilltop flurry (The Hilltop Flurries probably won’t be my new band name, but you never known) can’t be ruled out, we’re likely dry today.
For tonight, clouds thicken, and some snow showers should work into SVT and SWNH, as well as far northwest MA, and some new coatings are possible by Monday morning with lows dropping into the upper 20s to low 30s.
For Monday, clouds clear out with time as a west to southwest flow develops, pushing temps way up into the upper 40s to mid 50s under increasingly sunny skies – a great start to the week! Mostly clear skies are expected Monday night with lows in the low to mid 30s.
As mentioned southerly gusts develop Tuesday, gusting up to 30mph ahead of a cold (more of a cooler) front that moves through Tuesday night. Highs will reach the 55-60º range under sunny skies with lows in the upper 20s to mid 30s.
Wednesday and Thursday should feature more partly sunny skies with highs in the 45-50º range with lows either side of 30º with lighter winds.
Friday through Sunday looks warmer, as ridging develops in the northeast U.S. pushing highs into the mid 50s to low 60s for the period with sunny skies on Friday, partly sunny skies on Saturday, and a chance of heavy rain by later Sunday.
Have a great day and I remain hopeful that we can stick together in 2025, as my annual support drive ends a week from tonight and we’re about 70% of the way to my annual 4% readership contribution goal (secure click below to support Dave’s work through 2025, thank you very much).
