YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, we’ve got patchy fog and drizzle on tap for today under mostly cloudy skies, and fog is notably dense in CMass for the time being.
We’ll see a light south wind with highs in the mid to upper 50s, so at least it will be a mild day despite the saturated lower atmosphere and mostly cloudy skies.
For tonight, a frontal boundary will be pressing west to east through our region, yet again draped southward off of a low pressure system which will be tracking northeast through Lake Huron destined for southeast Ontario and western Quebec in Canada today and tonight.
Clouds will thicken tonight and lows will drop into the mid to upper 30s, with rain showers moving in from west to east either side of midnight and continuing into Friday morning.
As the front continues east, colder air will work in on the back side of it, changing parts of the Berkshires, northwest hilltowns and SVT to snow for a fairly brief time. This may lay down fresh coatings up to an inch in high terrain areas before it all quits before noon.
Highs on Friday will reach the mid to upper 40s, but with northwest winds picking up and producing a blustery end to the week, we’ll see gusts of 30-45mph which will drive wind chills down into the 30s as we dry out. Lows will drop down to near freezing.
By Saturday, we’ll start off mostly sunny and see highs rise into the mid to upper 50s. Clouds will build in during the afternoon as a weaker front swings through at night bringing some scattered showers that may end with a few snowflakes as lows drop into the mid to upper 20s. #NoBigWhoop
On Sunday, we’ll cool down under mostly sunny skies with highs only rising into the upper 30s to mid 40s, begetting lows in the upper 20s as we cloud up again with a small storm system that will be tracking east-northeast out of the Ohio Valley, set to arrive early Monday.
This system will push precipitation into our region in the later pre-dawn hours of Monday morning, and if that timing holds, many of us north of the CT/MA line could wake up with a coating of snow, up to an inch or two in the higher terrain.
Thereafter, we’ll change to rain showers in the mid to late morning on Monday, so suffice it to say, we could have some minor Monday morning commute impacts.
Highs on Monday will rise well into the 40s as rain tapers off later in the afternoon, with lows dipping into the mid 30s overnight.
Tuesday and Wednesday should feature high pressure and highs in the mid 40s to low 50s with more sunshine, prior to potentially seeing another snow to rain producer for Thursday.
Beyond that, I think we’re going to see another shot of colder air, with potential for more storms so please stay tuned for updates through the month.
Have a great day!
