YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, we’ve got some patchy fog out there (‘twas dense at Worcester earlier), with temps mostly in the 30s, and climbing into the 40s, ending up in the mid to upper 50s for high temps today.
Skies will be cloudier earlier, but should bust a move into more of a partly to mostly sunny setup with light south wind.
For tonight, clouds increase as a warm front approaches the region, and by or after midnight we could see some scattered showers move through in response.
Lows will only dip to the 40s, and patchy fog will again show up in some spots as a result of humidity increasing behind the front.
For Sunday, a changeable weather period begins, and lasts into Monday morning.
First off, it will be mild with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s, and we could see some isolated to scattered showers at any point during the day until about 6-8pm.
In addition, as a low level jet streak approaches from the south and our surface pressure field tightens a bit, these mild temps should help to transport gusts of 25-40mph down to the surface in the afternoon, blowing out of the south.
As we get toward dinner time after sunset, gusts of 30-50mph will be possible, with highest gusts found in the high terrain of the greater WMass region.
After about 6-8pm, we’ll see the heaviest core of expected rainfall pushing into the region, and I can’t rule out a rumble of thunder.
It will rain heavily at times overnight, with lows only dropping into the 40s.
Rainy periods will continue Monday morning and then taper off toward mid-day with highs pretty much hanging with the Sunday night lows, somewhere in the 45-50º range, with Monday night lows as we dry out dipping into the upper 20s.
Tuesday through Thursday noon should feature an upper level ridge nosing into New England, which will produce mild temps and sunny skies for at least Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will reach the low to mid 50s Tuesday and then the upper 50s to low 60s by Wednesday (which is the pick of the week!).
By Thursday, however, we will be clouding up as another front approaches the region and brings more rain by Thursday night, with cooler temps on Friday to close out the week.
Have a great day and if you haven’t had a chance yet and would like me to stick around, I’m looking for around 350 final patrons out of over 59,000 followers to chip in any amount by Sunday ($10 once, $3/month, whatever feels right) to help me reach my 4% reader-support goal (1 in 25 folks chipping in what they can).
