YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve got increasing sunshine expected by this afternoon, though we’ll start off the day with some cloudiness. Temps are quite mild to get us out the door, with many in the 50s this morning, which will set up highs rising into the mid 50s to mid 60s by this afternoon.
For tonight, high pressure will glide east across southern Quebec into Saturday as a warm front extends our way from the southwest, so clouds will increase as temps bottom out into the 30s to low 40s.
For Saturday, a few showers are possible early, but by mid to late morning through the early evening, periods of rainfall will move through the greater WMass region. Highs should only reach the 40s, and amounts should range from a tenth of an inch to half an inch, depending on whether or not you get under some of the heavier cells or not.
Some sleet pellets may mix into the high terrain as well with lows bottoming out into the mid to upper 30s with isolated showers overnight.
Sunday will feature hit-or-miss showers at times, and highs look a bit cooler than originally thought, hanging in the mid 40s to mid 50s for the most part, with some more showers Sunday night as lows drop into the upper 20s to mid 30s as a cold front moves into the region.
This frontal boundary looks to drop temps enough to coincide with remnant moisture to produce a change to snow/sleet for some areas, especially the Berkshires, western hilltowns, SVT and northern MA into Worcester Counties into SWNH. I can’t rule out some coatings of snow/sleet by the Monday commute, and I will keep you updated on this piece through the weekend.
Next week is looking cooler through about Wednesday or Thursday before milder temps arrive late week.
High Monday may only reach the upper 30s to mid 40s with some snow and rain showers departing the region, with partly sunny skies by afternoon, and lows near freezing.
By Tuesday, another weak system may dive out of the Great Lakes and produce some more snow showers across our region, with fair weather developing by mid-week.
That’s how it looks now, folks, as I don’t see any hugely impactful systems, or big warm-ups or Arctic blasts – just sort of steady as we go, up-and-down early Spring conditions.
Have a great day!
