YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, we’ve got a cool morning with temps in the 30s and low 40s, with some upper 20s up in SVT, and a breezy day and night lies ahead.
Behind yesterday’s frontal passage which produced all of those wild-looking clouds, we’ve been gusting to 25-40mph overnight and that should continue at times today and tonight, slackening by tomorrow as high pressure moves east into our region and weakens the pressure gradient currently overhead.
Highs will sit in the 40s today, and some scattered mixed to rain showers will upslope into the Litchfield Hills, Taconics, Berkshires and SVT at times, with a final resurgence of snow showers tonight for the northern Berkshires and SVT where some coatings are possible.
Lows dip to the low to mid 30s with gusts to 30mph at times.
Winds become lighter and shift direction for Thursday with highs in the 50s under sunny skies as high pressure nudges into the region from the west. Lows will drop to the upper 20s to low 30s due to lighter winds and radiational cooling, which will be the coldest night we see in some time.
Friday will see southerly gusts up to 30mph with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s under mostly sunny skies early, with clouds increasing later, which will precede a few showers Friday evening and night as a warm front approaches the region.
As a stronger low pressure system rips northeast into southern Canada, it will draw a warm front through Friday night into Saturday, and while that will create a few showers, it will also pump temps up into the mid 60s to low 70s, and maybe even the mid 70s on Saturday. Lows will ldrop to the low to mid 40s with a few showers possible.
Sunday is the pick of the weekend for sure with sunshine resuming and highs in the mid 50s to mid 60s, which will last into Monday before we see more showers Monday night.
At the moment, the nights of Friday, Saturday, Monday and next Thursday could feature some showers from frontal passages, but none of these “events” looks very noteworthy.
Mostly, I’m seeing more sunshine, warmer temps and not as much as wind, so if you ask me (meteorologically-speaking) it looks like we’ve made it after all! *insert a 4-note melody, a final chord, and a meow here*
Have a great day!
