WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, sweet welcome rain has arrived!! Farmers rejoice!! Green thumbers raise up both green thumbs!! Everybody else stop, drop and roll around on the wet Earth, we’re fortunate!! Oh, and what’s that?? More double–dashes, you want?? More double–dashes you’ll get!! Look out below, and send coffee!!

–Rain continues over the greater WMass region, falling at varying intensities this morning, with patchy fog in spots, notably in central MA
–There is a current Flood Advisory up for the central/southern Berkshires and Taconics to be aware of for street flooding as heavier rains move into that sub-region
–Many of us have received over an inch of rain since just yesterday, let alone Sunday afternoon when some showers and thunderstorms began this drought-denting process
–We have low pressure consolidating over the Mid-Atlantic region and that will track south of the southern New England coastline today
–This will continue to spread a stratiform rain shield over the region through this morning and into the afternoon, after which we should start to see the rain shield start to break up a bit, especially north of the Rt. 2 corridor in northwestern-most MA, SVT and SWNH where drier air will be working in first
–Persistent easterly flow today will keep us quite cool with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s, and some places in the SVT mountains will only get up into the upper 50s to low 60s for a bit of a raw feel!
–Some street or small stream flooding is possible, but it’s really in eastern CT into RI that we could see more serious flash flooding at some point, as I am less concerned about much of the greater WMass region
–Again, we taper things down tonight after an additional 1-3″ of rainfall today, with maybe a bit more in a few spots like the east-facing slopes of the Berkshires or Worcester hills
–We’ll then drop into the 50s for lows overnight with patchy fog
–For Wednesday, we could see some scattered showers in the morning with a mostly cloudy start, but we should be drying things out from north to south with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, and lows in the 50s as skies break up
–High pressure moves back in from Thursday through the weekend, but with a continued easterly flow we’ll stay in the mid to upper 70s under mostly sunny skies with lows in the 55-60º range
–We’ll warm up over the weekend as high pressure scoots east of us developing a more southerly flow
–By then we should see our temps come up into the upper 70s to low 80s, before we reach early next week when our next chance for rainfall exists
–So let’s ring out all of the rain drops today as much as we can, because more dry weather is on the way!
