>>> DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL <<<
–Fair weather dominates into Thursday
–Patchy fog burns off this morning, revealing mostly sunny skies
–Humidity increases with dewpoints in the low to mid 60s
–High reach well into the 80s today, lows low/mid 60s
–Then we enter a Monday through Thursday period with potential for a heat wave given highs expected to reach the mid 80s to low 90s, and dewpoints in the mid 60s into late week (low air temps in the miid 60s with patchy fog possible late)
–A trough swings east out of the Great Lakes later Thursday into the weekend and brings a more unstable air mass and additional moisture
–This results in periods of scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday night, Friday and Saturday prior to a dry-and-cool-down Sunday into Monday, but before we get into this afternoon’s severe weather details let’s check a note from our local weekend sponsor, #GerardGhazeyBatesPC, an estate planning law firm in Northampton, MA.

>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<<
Good morning everybody, again thanks so much for all of the overwhelming Maine coon kitty love around our beloved Toby’s setback, he is slowly recuperating and we’ll know more in a week or so about his longer-term prognosis – he’s a strong feline!

As for our weather, there isn’t a ton to talk about, really. We have high pressure at the surface south of us, and an upper level ridge building into the eastern U.S. that is going to allow heat and humidity to surge up the eastern seaboard and into New England starting today, but really focused on the Monday through Thursday period.

This abundant higher pressure at all levels will promote mostly sunny skies and dry weather through at least the daylight hours of Thursday, so for all who have been clamoring for a long dry stretch, well, #BINGO #Ding #Ding #Ding #Ding #Ding #Ding

Lows will be in the low to mid 60s tonight as humidity increases, and patchy fog will be possible, but not before a gloriously warm day well into the 80s – summertime activities abound, although I’ll be with kitty inside #meow #growl #trill

Monday through Thursday features highs in the mid 80s to low 90s with the hottest temps in the Springfield to Hartford stretch, where the best chance for an actual heat wave will be. Lows in the mid 60s or so with similar dewpoints.

Humidity then increases further late week as a trough approaches from the west and sweeps more moisture into the region, which will help produce scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday night, Friday and Saturday with highs in the 80s.

By sometime on Sunday we should see a cold front or two swing through the region and lower temps and humidity and allow fair weather to resume Sunday into early next week.

Have a great day!

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
